And while the state of these works is desperate all hope is not lost; something can be done. It may be unreasonable to expect that the painting would look new or as if no damage had occurred but it is perfectly sound to expect that it can be salvaged.

It's always refreshing to see someone - especially when that someone has such a large following - willingly reveal their mistakes and missteps. I have a lot of respect for you when you show us those times you miss the mark. It helps make the process seem more "real," I think.
Hi Julian, two questions about your tools. First, what is the name of the tool you use to remove tacks and do you know os a source for one? Second, I noticed 2 light stands behind you at about 45 degrees when you are retouching. What is the color (K) of the light and the lumens?
