Haunting of Hill House is one of my favorite shows ever, so that was an easy vote. However, and I can't believe I've never seen anyone mention it here, I believe Sharp Objects, another brilliant hbo show, would be an incredible journey for an expert analyst like Novum. I'll probably mention it a couple of times whenever I get the chance, the show is painfully underrated. In a way it's a great companion piece to True Detective, it really fits the southern gothic theme.

Please check Youtube, he did already cover this one :)

What about Nosferatu?!

A bit sad The Menu is not on the list

Promising Young Woman please

I voted for The Haunting of Hill House because that has a very rich history, and makes me often wonder who first came up with the "Can't ever leave the house when you die" concept, but I would NOT be upset if Heretic won.

Christopher Hall

OMG PLEASE PEOPLE!!!! Pick Heretic please!!!!!!!! The reasearch alone for the film to be made I KNOW NOVUM will wanna dive deep on this I KNOW IT!

Miguel Peiro

Heretic HERETIC please bro!!!! Mr Reed is a character that was meant to be dissected by you

petitquasson

I guess if you do The Haunting of Hill House, maybe I'll get to find out why it's not overrated!

I've seen them all, and I cannot decide. I think I'm between A Dark Song and The Haunting of Hill House.

Jess

I would love the Boy and the Heron but I understand that culture gaps can be a lot of extra legwork. I'm a huge Flanagan fan tho so Haunting of Hill House would also be really dope! And it'd be interesting to see you do a TV series

A Dark Song is the brutal-slow-burn- payoff i tend to pivot to...but all of these choices are fantastic!

Parasite & The Boy and the Heron are already on my watchlist, so I'm inclined to pick one of those, but I did hear you say these are not the choices you would make for yourself due to lack of cultural context. I just googled synopsis for The Northman - sounds just like The Lion King/Hamlet, a good classic story, and there's a big interest in Norse mythology right now if my social medis is anything to go by, so this sounds like a video that could appeal to the masses moreso than say The Lighthouse, which feels a little niche and is probably still my favorite one of your videos :) I also googled the synopsis for Heretic, and that one is apparently super recent, so if you enjoyed it and thought it was well made, I think it would be a wise choice to cover with a video too. Maybe I'm missing the point though if you're trying to make a Patron-only video and I'm thinking of subscriber growth? 😅 Regardless which video you make, I will see the film and happily listen to your thoughts on it, you've not led me astray so far!

Zoe Hyde

And I didn’t love Heretic, so I would be interested in your thoughts on that as well, come to think of it

Zoe Hyde

I completely heard what you said in, I think your q & a, about never wanting to do a Parasite video because doing such a deep dive like you do into a culture you’re not familiar with would just completely consume your life, I get why you don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. But that’s the exact kind of rabbit hole where I do yearn for someone smarter than me to just explain everything to me in a video I can hyperfixate on. TLDR I know you don’t want to do it and I accept that but would LOVE to watch that!

I think you should do a video on Moral Orel

Fourth Horseman

"Joseph was experienced in magical practices and the use of magical implements. D. Michael Quinn well-described this tradition in his book Early Mormonism and the Magic World View. It seems it was common for him to use such objects in his magical/spiritual/mystical practice. Many claim that Joseph owned and used talismans, even perhaps having a Jupiter talisman on him at his death. This was purportedly “silver,” or some type of metal that looked silver in color, with symbolic inscriptions." Bryce Haymond ---- I voted for the Northman, but if we are going to talk about mormonism like we did about witchcraft for the VVitch, I am all in!!

Oohcheers for that

The Heretic would be such a fun one to hear your thoughts on... I mean who doesn't love a Redditor horror story? Parasite would also be such a cool pick in lieu of Mickey 17!

Shannon

Heretic just because I watched a 90 min commentary and analysis vid from an ExMormon/former Mormon missionary "sister" last night (https://youtu.be/j5wpy7ZGfK4) which gave me a renewed interest in the movie. She gets into the nitty gritty of the experience of serving a mission and how that informs Heretic's premise which made me appreciate it a lot more than I did on my initial watch.

I'd love The Terror! Absolutely underrated show, highly recommend

Alexx T. Holden

I’m going to just mention something that I don’t think gets mentioned near enough. Even if only so more people will watch it, “Now and Then, Here and There” is a 13 episode anime from 1999.

Alexx T. Holden

Haunting 100%

Valeriia Shvets

Oh my god, heretic, I will get you one day!!

Liz Grylls

I watched Jacob's ladder for the first time last night and I am obsessed. I'd love an analysis of that

Angelle Bonnecarrere

I'm still all in for Heretic bc it has so many themes to explore, but The Northman is peaking my interest.

Novum

I should have included that actually, it's 100% on my to watch list.
