The tail end of your giraffrican vacation

There were several points where she felt she could rationalize it, when the accommodations weren't exactly stellar, or provided lunch was little more than some pre-packaged snacks. But they'd seen a lot of interesting sights, a few historic locations, been on some short hikes through the wilderness. Everything was building toward visiting a site for conservation efforts, specifically for giraffes, which wasn't terribly exciting but still something she'd been looking forward to.
After a miserably hot night in a tent, she was glad for the drinks they were given en route to the giraffe paddock...they tasted a bit strange, but it was better than nothing. After entering a fenced-in area, the tour bus dropped them off, but then pulled away and sped back through the gate...which was then closed and locked behind them. Just as they were wondering what was going on, the formula they'd been drinking kicked in...she doubled over in discomfort, her body on fire, skin crawling as fur crept across it...her hands shifted into useless hooves, and she felt her neck growing longer and longer. She tried to stand, but her muscles didn't want to respond...all fours suddenly felt more natural to her. When she saw the other members of her tour group changing similarly...changing into giraffes like her...she realized the main reason the vacation package was so inexpensive was that it didn't need to account for a return trip.
