It didn't feel to her like some animalistic thing, an instinct she had to let out...it was more a cry of desperation, the deepest expression of anguish, "why must I be like this, why me?" It was true that she lost some of herself with each change, gave over to the wolf within, but what remained of her was fully cognizant of that loss, and mourned it anew each night.
