If you try to question why, you'll get a variety of not-very-believable reasons. It's either good luck, or it wards off bad luck, or white skunks are super rare, and that should be reason enough...
The most plausible explanation: there's really only one white skunk wandering around out there, and girl is incredible at what she does. In fact, she may have spread the idea herself. Nobody seems to walk away from the experience saying the claim is bullshit, they usually become its biggest proponents afterward.
So, there you go. Something to keep in mind if you see a flash of white behind some dumpster in an alley.
