Chapter 71: Ruthlessness Of Misfortune I
.................
Those Ten Minutes, Yovan would use to draw the scenery before him... The Fall Massacre painting is a vital piece of the puzzle... of the Future.
Jaya has a very rich history as it was once shaped like a skull and much larger than it is now. Now, however, the island has the shape of a jagged "U".
The truth about Jaya is that it is geographically only half of the entire island that it once was 400 years ago.
However, half of it was launched into the sky by the Knock Up Stream which was possible due to seismic activity shattering the island's crust, only the part that made up the skull's mouth remains.
The Shandia civilization, an ancient civilization once lived on Jaya, but them and their legendary city were shot up in the sky alongside Upper Yard.
Such history, Yovan doesn't know as his actions caused Jaya to lose another significant portion of it.
The difference is that the Fall Massacre created a deep wide crater throughout the Island, leaving it nothing like it was.
Seizon No Hono was left stuck in the very center of the crater, still standing vertically. It had cracks all over it, and the crow's head was half broken.
Life seemed to be leaving it. However, it clutched to life as Yovan caressed it with a peculiar look, "Sorry, but this had to happen... We always survive as will you."
He transformed into a single feather before appearing at the very edge of the crater, his painting tools already prepared.
And so, he started painting right in the middle of chaos, in the middle of the burning ground. Feathers were flying about. Fire was spreading throughout.
Yet he was painting the memory. It was all according to plan. The Painting had to be made because it will be kind of an advertisement.
What will happen today isn't the end goal of his plans, but merely the beginning, so Yovan continued painting as quickly as he possibly could.
He didn't have much time, and that resulted in an interesting painting, one of deeper meanings.
It was a painting of the crater, Seizon No Hono very apparent in it, even its worn-out state was very clear, but everything else was fuzzy.
The feathers seemed more like lines of darkness. The fire was nothing but mere golden waves moving about, but if one looks closely, they would be able to see Ships on the Horizon.
The Ships surrounding the Island were once those of the Emperors of the Underworld, but not anymore. Those were sunken, and taking their place was just about a dozen ships.
They were all colossal, the biggest ships Yovan has ever seen, even bigger than Seizon No Hono. They were just way too big to be considered anything but weapons of destruction.
Such is the nature of the Buster Call, the ultimate form of military attack used by the Marines, its strength was said to be equal to that of an entire nation's military.
The Buster Call is the strongest Marine military action possible, performed only under special circumstances.
The target of a Buster Call is usually to destroy anything from a criminal or group of criminals to an entire island that has proven to be extremely dangerous to the World Government.
Since the Buster Call is an order of such destructive power, only the highest authorities are granted the power to initiate it.
In fact, only ten people in the world can make such an order, and one of those people saw Yovan as a threat to be eliminated at all costs, understandably so.
Yovan stood up, picked up the painting, and placed it on the ground as the latter faintly turned into sand, sucking it deep inside. Two minutes left.
"I'm a bit sleepy," Yovan murmured as he let out a yawn. He barely slept since his disappearance. He was as usual working hard, harder than needed just so nothing goes wrong.
Or with his misfortune, it should be working harder so even if anything goes wrong, he would be able to handle it.
He took off his mask and threw it to the side. It will only act as an obstruction to his vision, and it will certainly not be able to stop the enemy's attacks.
Yovan eyed the mask, seeming lost in thought, 'I won't need it anymore... Hopefully, things don't go too wrong.'
His thoughts made him let out a chuckle of amusement, "Of course things will go wrong. It will go horribly wrong, but I will survive."
He was saying that despite clearly feeling a figure high in the sky, watching his every move to make sure he doesn't escape.
[Countdown: 1]
'Go on, surprise me, Limitless.' Yovan mused as he closed his eyes, pushing his Observation Haki to its limits.
And indeed, Limitless did surprise him. It was almost like Limitless was trying to fuck him over or it just won't accept any amount of incompetence.
Limitless is an inheritance, and it's a ruthless one. It was as if its goal was to eliminate him at all costs. There were no warnings, he was just thrown out into this world, seemingly free to do whatever.
However, Yovan didn't allow himself to be lost in the pleasure of this world. He worked hard, especially after seeing the Countdown.
And indeed, the first Countdown ended, and misfortune followed. Limitless, however, was not done.
[Kiryu Hasshoken: 981/∞]
[Luck= -981]
'Wait, that's it??' Yovan wondered with confusion.
[Two other stats will be randomly chosen]
[Endurance: 1255/∞]
[Devil Fruit: Kakin Kakin no Mi, Model: Crow (Awakened): 999/∞]
[Luck= -981-999-1255= -3235]
'...' Yovan was speechless. Like, what in the actual fuck is happening? He knew that Limitless is out to get him, but not to this degree!!
'Random my fucking ass!!! What's this bullshit??' A stat was chosen. His luck went down, and then another two stats were chosen... With his shit luck?
Yovan didn't let Limitless' shamelessness get to him too much as he remained wary. His only consolation was the fact that his highest stat wasn't included.
[Willpower: 1375/∞]
Yovan took a deep breath as he sensed everything around him. The Buster Call started as enormous cannonballs were launched at the Island.
All the dozen colossal ships attacked at the same time, showing the horror of the Buster Call as the Island was left in ruins if it wasn't already ruined by the Fall.
However, it all mostly stopped. At least, the area around Yovan and Seizon No Hono remained intact as a wave of feathers erupted from the surroundings of the Island.
Months ago, after taking over the Island, Yovan created numerous feathers and hid them in the depths beneath the Island just for this day.
The numerous feathers worked as an incredibly thick Veil Of Darkness around Yovan, stopping the colossal cannonballs in their tracks.
But still, the rest of the Island aside from Yovan's vicinity was completely destroyed. In fact, the Island was slowly but surely sinking somehow.
Until there was a fire. As if the feathers were more flammable than they were supposed to be, they lit up on fire almost instantly, the fire further spreading with ridiculous speed, the fire further spreading throughout.
The CP9 certainly prepared and studied Yovan's methods and powers thoroughly, all for the sake of eliminating him with absolute certainty.
And finally, the Veil of Darkness was breached through, spreading chaos even onto Seizon No Hono.
High in the sky, there was a figure seemingly jumping in the air while eyeing the place like a hawk, his expression remaining hidden underneath his mask.
The man was very tall and slim with a light-colored mask with round eyes, a cylindrical mouthpiece that sticks out, a high hat, and a long holding stick that he was grasping with both hands in front of himself.
His hair was green and wild. In contrast to CP9 members who are usually adorned in black suits, he was wearing a white suit and cape.
"I can not sense him anymore??" He noted with a surprised look.
His surprise, however, didn't last for long as he turned his attention to one of the Marine battleships in the distance, "Oops!" He really didn't seem to care much as he watched the show.
Yovan somehow appeared on that specific ship, completely unnoticed as he stood behind an odd laughing man, a pale man of slim stature with wavy, wild lavender hair in a layered style that is roughly shoulder-length and parted in the middle.
The man was maniacally laughing while watching the Island turning upside down under the barrage of cannonballs.
His laugh was cut short as Yovan held him by the head, his hand vibrating as he released a small number of vibrating feathers that dove into the man's brain in little to no time.
"Nice." Yovan let out a sigh of relief. Killing him was necessary, and luckily, it was easy because the man is actually weaker than even average Marines.
That's especially weird since he's actually the Chief of CP9, Spandm and he's the one seeking the blueprints of Pluton.
"I will give you all a chance in a battle to the death, and I will not escape because you will not be able to stop me if I so wish. The other option is that I will eliminate everyone I can."
The Marines on the Ship were pretty much powerless against him. He can just tour around the Ships while killing everyone and the CP9 won't be able to stop him from acting like a rat.
"Mahahahamahahahahmahmahmah!" Someone laughed.

But an Admiral didn't come for him because the operation is under the control of the Cipher Pol. They certainly didn't want anyone else to be involved because they thought those many Cipher Pol agents would be enough.
Jon
now none of this is making sense, he just ensured that even if he survives this admirals or higher will come for him. destroying a whole island does that.
