Chapter 63: Set In Motion II
.................
It was weird. Kalifa saw none of this coming. The way he was behaving almost seemed like he knows who she is, or at least suspects something.
The tension was high as Yovan walked around the Island, basically everyone was avoiding him.
The ones that recognized his identity stayed away, some even were quickly escaping the premise of the Island.
The ones that didn't recognize him also stayed away because the ones that recognized him stayed away.
It made Kalifa curious, especially as she started to hear sounds of explosions throughout the Island. The place was becoming chaotic, and soon, Bege came back, "It's done."
"What did you do?" Kalifa asked.
"Took over the Island and eliminated some obstacles. Nothing too crazy." Bege shrugged, "Everyone is already informed to leave. If someone doesn't by the day after tomorrow, they'll be eliminated. The ones that showed any resistance never existed."
Yovan smiled as he looked high in the sky, his crow-like eyes catching something, but he still waited until Laffitte came back.
"It seems that its holder is indeed in paradise... Not too far off actually. He seems to come here from time to time." Laffitte informed him with a weird smile.
"Name?" Yovan asked.
"They call him Bellamy the Hyena," Laffitte responded.
"How about you take a ride with some of the fleeing pirates, and catch him alive? Can you do that?" Yovan asked.
"Done yesterday," Laffitte spoke before flaring his wings and flying into the distance, a smile of excitement apparent on his face.
He could feel it from the depths of his soul, like his Devil Fruit was telling him something.
The Siren in him allowed him to feel it. The ocean was stirring about, the waves were raging, and the Wind was howling. Yovan is about to bring a bit of chaos to Paradise.
Yovan closed his eyes as he flared his vast dark wings, dark lines appearing throughout his body at the same time though hidden beneath his thick clothes.
"Go back to the Ship, and help Kaku if he needs any assistance," Yovan instructed and waited until he was left alone before scattering into numerous feathers that flew into the sky.
High in the sky, hidden amidst the clouds was a large ship shaped somewhat like a tea kettle, flanked by water wheels, and attached to a giant hot air balloon with the inscription "WE NEWS".
The Ship is the headquarter of The World Economy News Paper, also called the WENP for short, a newspaper that is distributed globally via News Coo.
A small door was already opened, awaiting his arrival. The feathers entered before reforming into Yovan, somehow all the feathers vanishing into his wings as he can emerge from a single feather.
"Let's talk just here." Before him stood a very tall human albatross hybrid with small eyes and a large beak.
The creature's body was covered in white feathers, and he has a large tail and wings that resemble human arms.
He was wearing a blue top hat with a large striped feather in it, a light blue button-down shirt with a yellow bow on the top, red and white checkered pants, a dark cape, and shoes that fit his bird-like feet.
His name is "Big News" Morgans, and he is the president of the World Economy News Paper and one of the emperors of the Underworld.
"Sure." Yovan smiled and nodded, "It can't be known that it's you because what will happen will surely ruin your reputation, so obviously you can not spread the news through your newspaper but through the Underworld scene."
Morgans narrowed his eyes though an excited smile was apparent on his face like a kid that found a new toy.
"The ones on the top might notice something, thus they will target you, so you can use this as a safety measure, just in case of course though you can deal with it however you see fit... This is just a copy by the way."
Yovan brought out several pieces of paper and handed them to him. Morgans took it with difficulty, his hands were shaking, chills going through his spine, 'Was I just given the blueprints of Pluton just like that?'
He eyed Yovan to see nothing but wildness. It almost looked like he wanted him to use them to bring about chaos... 'He's a maniac!! And I love it!!'
"After the incident, you can paint me however you want though I would suspect the World government would prefer to erase everything about me. Again, do whatever you want."
It almost seemed like Yovan wanted to laugh as he spoke because the more he spoke, the crazier he seemed to himself. Like, what kind of fucked up plan is he concocting?
Even Morgans were curious because he doesn't know everything. He was only told of the preparations, not the end goal. He was very much looking forward to getting surprised.
The man before him contacted him through his news coo. Then again, it really wasn't hard to reach Morgans because news is his second name and big is his first.
"Just make sure he appears there at this exact time. He can not appear sooner, but he can appear later. Remember that." Yovan even went as far as opening his notebook to make sure he doesn't forget anything.
"Ah... Ok, I see," Yovan nodded before handing a confused Morgans a paper, "For the payment, I will only accept these things. Make sure to let that circulate around."
Yovan then narrowed his eyes, "Most important of all, I want chaos, but not that much chaos. Use your connections to inform some about the shadiness of this event. Only two of them should participate personally."
"I know," Morgans nodded with a gulp of anticipation, "If the Underworld becomes chaotic. No one will win but the snakes watching from afar."
"Also, make sure the sand guy keeps his promise. If he shows a single sign of going back on the deal I'll have with him in the future, release the news." Yovan had yet to meet the sand guy, but he was certain things will go as planned.
"And here are these..." Yovan stopped himself from handing over other pieces of paper, seeming hesitant, "What do you think?"
"Think what?" Morgans asked, confused.
"You're right. They should think for themselves and suffer a bit. Only in that way can they grow." Yovan nodded, very much agreeing with whatever was said by someone no one heard, leading him to get rid of those papers.
But his words drove a frown on Morgans' face, "Is the end result your death? Everything you said until now tells me that you believe you'll die."
"Yahahahahaha," Yovan shook his head with a laugh, "No no, why would I die? Can I even die? No, because I always survive."
He then turned around, preparing to head out, "Just take care of Bege for me if you can. He'll likely not need any help, but you never know."
Yovan then scattered into feathers, moving along the wing away and away.
Morgans remained frozen in his place, almost too stupified to move... Until, "Kuwahahahahahahaha Kuwahahaha!!"
Yovan landed on the Island of Jaya again and started creating feathers, more and more feathers to simply no end.
He didn't stop for hours and even days except for when he has to eat or when something of significance happens such as today, someone paid Jaya a visit.
"Hey." Standing before him was none other than Rob Lucci with his bird perched on his left shoulder. His bird seemed to be speaking for him, moving its wings and beak quite naturally.
"Aqua Laguna is a month away. Iceburg sent me here to make sure." Rob Lucci said as calmly as ever.
"Ok, I will leave for Water 7 when it's time." Yovan shrugged before opening his notebook to check a few things.
"I'd like to check on Kaku, and spend some time with him, so can I stay here until then?" Lucci asked.
"Hmm, sure." Yovan shrugged again, staying calm and collected without any change in his expression as Lucci started walking away.
Keeping a straight face was hard, especially since his notebook reminded him of Rob Lucci, an agent of CP9 tasked with getting the blueprints.
His strange arrival here definitely wasn't Iceburg's doing. Yovan suspects that the CP9 were losing their patience with Kalifa and Kaku's slow progress. They're planning something extreme.
Either way, he continued with creating more and more feathers, mostly focusing on creating Feathers Of Awakening.
Those are the feathers he creates when he uses his awakening, the result of scattering into feathers, and those are the only feathers that can act as a portal to appear from.
His endurance was monstrous, especially after his awakening, yet even that didn't air his frail body as he found an even more efficient method to exhaust himself beyond belief.
He continued until Laffitte came body with the unconscious Bellamy. Yovan acted discreetly, taking the unconscious body to a small chamber in Seizon No Hono.
A few things were before him, a large sharp feather, Bellamy, and a basket of all kinds of fruits and even vegetables, the latter just in case.
He was alone in the chamber, seated in a meditative position with his Observation Haki working beyond its limits to make sure no one is preying on him.
Only after a while did the feather elevate by itself before starting to noticeably shudder without Yovan's touch.
The air around it became concentrated before it dove into Bellamy's head like a knife cutting through butter. It happened a few times again just to make sure he was dead.
All the while, Yovan's focus was on the basket of fruits and vegetables, killing seemingly becoming something normal to him.
"Yahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"
