This is reflected in Havel's character design; rocky armor evoking the natural elements as opposed to arcane sorcery, and the dragon tooth; a symbol of his hate for magic of dragons. It is also elaborated upon in the description of the Great Magic Barrier miracle, which explains that Havel devised the powerful defensive miracle to counter Seath's magic. Unsurprisingly, that miracle is extremely effective if employed by the player against Seath.
