Short answer: It's not editing; and the field has protections to prevent long term issues. Long answer: The fix for a variant is based on what it does. If you make BRCA1 variant (let's say rs41293463) behave like its T;T version, then for sure call it a fix. Hi, how does it "fix" those variants exactly? You can't just turn off specific genes or dna modifications without potentially catastrophic side effects on all related systems. Is it editing, or what? Just curious. Thank you for answering.
