HL-CMS (for those who were curious)
🕑 Added 2018-11-28 04:19:00 +0000 UTC The CMS is pretty basic, but it automatically builds out the insert/update forms based on the MySQL table structure, selecting the appropriate form controls, etc., so I can focus on adding content records and tables rather than coding the CMS for each change/addition to the data-tables.I'm tinkering a bit to add support for multi-part fields, like files, that take a single form-input. Once done, I can begin adding images and other file-URIs directly into the new game UI branch.
Otherwise, it's designed to make it easy to bulk add/export content... as a test I submitted the lists of names from the old UI branch... 1400+ male first names, 3500+ female first names, 3000+ surnames... and I even added the 50 US states as state and ship-names as a test. We now have a table of roughly 6000 names, and interestingly, only about 15 names appear as male, female AND surnames... though obviously the overlap between any 2 groups is much higher. 2 names also overlapped with states, Georgia, which is correct/expected, and Maryland, which means we need to hunt down whomever posted the list of names I ripped online and smack them upside the head, because only an idiot would include "land" and their child's name. ;p
That particular table has extra fields reserved, in case we later want to add the name meanings, origins, alternate spellings, and nicknames/short-forms, which might be fun details for the game down the road.
I haven't imported all the data yet, I'm still working on structures and how I want the CMS tables to be accessed from within the game (leaning toward flat-ish object tables using the IndexedDB API), which will influence how I group/split things like general items/objects and food.
