Rick was such a kind, loving dad, but MAN was he bad at keeping his housemates from injuring themselves LMAO, which is kinda hilarious considering just how much importance he puts on "keeping his family safe" :,D poor Maggie was immune to falls after this fr fr, that child was indestructible after growing up with Rick
Also, maybe a fun fact? Maybe a boring fact, but Rick couldn't ride a bike. He couldn't swim, either. No one ever taught him how to and he was never in any need to learn, so whenever he was trying to teach his kids these random basic kid skills, he was always MEGA scared they're gonna just randomly die on him :,) He also probably read like 7 books on bike riding before allowing Mags anywhere near a bike. Bro may have not been able to physically drive it, but you can bet your left leg he was mentally a pro mountain rider to fully make sure he could keep Maggie from breaking an arm, and boy did that not keep either of them any safer in this situation lol

RIIIGHT I wanna draw them together so bad!! 😩 They have so much in common too but unfortunately Narcissus is an unsocialized feral cat who hates talking to people so I have no idea how an interaction between him and Rick would play out haha 😭

Oooouch, that definitely sounds very painful 🥲 I think that’s enough to scare anyone away from learning how to ride a bike haha. Did you ever go back to biking again after that? It’s the same with me too, whenever I draw Narcissus and Glo I gotta keep resizing them because I always forget just how tall Narcissus is standing next to anyone, especially Glo 🤣

BAhaha lmao yess i agree 😭 i remember riding straight into the thorn bush downhill as a kid and it's safe to say the anxiety stuck with me ever since LMAO AWW OMG but thank you so much!! Yoo that's soo kind, I really appreciate itt 🥹❤️ full body drawings tend to be so difficult for me, especially for this story since Rick is grotesquely huge compared to everyone else hahaha, but this composition totally worked out ❤️

I completely relate to both Rick and Maggie on this one, bike riding is hard stuff 😭 And the poses and overall perspective in this artwork are seriously to die forrrr💖💕💞💖💕💖 Like you are always so good at spacing everything out and having it all look so balanced, like there’s not empty spaces but it’s also not cluttered,, ugghh I just love it sm 🥹💗

AAW I'M SO GLAAD 🫂❤️ those are some of my favorite illustrations to draw, they are always so silly and wholesome and such a nice break from the serious book stuff ❤️🩹 LMAO i'd say both 🤣 he was stressing out because of them waaay too much but they also were his best buds and kept him in shape, so it depends on the day BAHAH ✨️ you having a kid of your own probably know enough about that already 🫂 FOR REAL THOO they'll be strolling down those Grimport streets like pro bikers once they get over this innitial bone-breaking phase of it haha 😭❤️

HAHAH 100% omg 🤣 he's definitely like a VIP patient at his local hospital for various reasons but his kids nearly killing him was definitely a big part of it LMAO ❤️🩹 AND THANK YOU SO MUCH!! i focus a lot on the portraits as those are my favorite to draw, but I so missed doing these more full-body action drawings!! Maggieeeee!!! Uhg I adore all the wee ones so much. OMG. Just lifeeeeee, they are! Do they keep Rick young? hahah or help age him alongside the work he does? lolol. I question that as a parent myself. hahah. And my actual HEART for him learning these skills that he never learned before! omgggg That's so freaking cute and everything. They will be unstoppable bike riders together once this initial fear subsides haha. Once he's got that confidence with it all!
