The idea atleast that Pentious' redemption gives me, is that a sinner can become a winner by counteracting the sin committed. Pentious' sin was knowledge of jack the ripper but not doing anything to stop his murders. But in hell, Adam and the angels were attacking his friends. And instead of holing up, he acted against the threat. Redeeming his "sin" that got him into hell in the first place. There is prolly a better way of wording it but that is how I see it. 12.12 - "This time I would do something"

Worth noting the chorus in Gravity were chanting “Sanctus Dominus” and “Ignis Vindictis” which is Latin for “Holy Lord” and “Fires of Vengeance” respectively. I fucking LOVE that they threw in Gregorian chants like that
