You said that months ago tho. That's the point. You should be providing patrons with status updates. You're going to test people's patience through their wallets and lose followers. It's just a good practice as a developer with stakeholders.

It's definitely not rude. This dev leaves their financial supporters in the dark and I don't think that's ok. They should be releasing alpha builds at least once every month or at least providing progress reports.
