Version 0.2.8 & Retrospective on 2019
🕑 Added 2019-12-31 20:07:19 +0000 UTCHello everyone, Lone_Wanderer here again; it is the time of year where one may look back and wonder... where did all the time go? Well, we are here to take a look at that. And we also got a treat for you as well with the holidays slowly ebbing down.
Retrospective 2019
In 2019 Identity was already fully transformed by my arrival around July in 2018. My responsibilities became bigger as I became the project lead, which had opened up new opportunities for me. I had recruited Blue Bishop just a few months after I joined and together we had the fortitude to rewrite the entire plot which we released on October 26th 2018.
Game devs don't really talk that much about just how much their project takes out of them, but in the month of the rewrite I personally did little else other than getting up, sitting down to edit and managing the team, then taking care of a few necessities and then going to bed.
The rewrite was a draining but also exhilarating experience for me and I learned a lot from it: Taking care of yourself is at least as important as working on the game, given that only a healthy and rested person will be able to reach their full creative potential. This sounds very basic and obvious, but at the time I was dumb enough to really put the rewrite above all else to try to not lose the goodwill of all of you amazing guys. I want to thank every single one of you who stuck around and trusted us with the shift in the lead.
Eventually I had also recruited Sampling Kid earlier this year to join our team as the sound designer. We finally had a full deck of cards and could spend more time polishing the game.
Over the course of 2019, the story introduced almost all of the plot-relevant characters not just in text, but also visually. We got to move the plot forward with a few new days while also adding dates for Brymror, Kovle, Garreth and Camila. We even shipped our first actual sex scene with a full CG.
The art has equally caught up where we have completed the character designs for every character and also finished their base sprites. While it has rather started towards the end of the year, we are now in the first steps of redesigning our UI, beginning with the main menu.
The sound design itself has started this year, but even in this time frame, much of the groundwork has been laid out and most of the early stages of the game have sounds or music throughout.
What lies in our future?
In 2019 including this update we released 8 game updates and 31 Patreon posts altogether. Many of us had personal issues over several months, but now with everything properly taken care of, we hope that for this next year work can be more consistent. Of course, nobody can really make a promise to never get punched in the face by fate or other circumstances, but I am cautiously optimistic when I say that I hope this next year will be better than this one.
Regarding sound and art, we are moving forward at a pretty good pace and we have a solid direction we want to follow. Making faster progress on the CGs will depend more on our funding rather than anything else.
Programming wise, Rriik has been focusing on finishing the Godot Engine port. His progress is pretty advanced and we are hoping that perhaps one of the next versions can include our shift to that engine.

To close out this year, we also wanted to present you another final update for this year. It will bring day 5 which builds directly on whatever happened after the decisive encounter with Mindalu during the fourth day.
This day will also bring a bit of a new structure with itself with opening up the game just a little bit towards exploration.
In addition to the new day we also have added another opportunity to date Camila, the alluring black dragoness, once more.
Finally, we also have added another variation of the artwork for the blowjob sex scene for Garreth. It is one of the cumming variations, with it one can maybe experience a white December on its final day as a substitute for a possible lack of snow.
