A Super Casual Vid About Thumbnailing
🕑 Added 2024-12-09 14:50:31 +0000 UTCSo, I am working on a commission- a really cool one actually. I will be making several portraits over the next 5 years or so of a client's 2 children as they grow up.
To do this I will need to make several thumbnail drawings to show to this client so that we can land on the same page Vision-wise.
I thought while I was at it this could be a useful real-world example of how a pro artist goes about making sketches for a commision. So I turned on my cameras and this stream of my thoughts and how I work is the result 😉
Oh, and as this is SUPER casual, I had to bleep out a word or two. Apologies if this is too intense 😅

Just sketching and eyeballing 👌

Thanks for sharing this very precious part of the work. Me drawing I would be worried about the proportion between hair shape and face but I see you don’t measure it. Eyeballing?

Really lovely. Mesmerising.

Like you are able to scrap what comes too hard. Not there yet.

Yay! What a cool project! Plus Thumbnailing is kind of easy to learn, hard to master. Thank you! And don’t worry, we can manage our Stephen unhinged.
