Co-op Removal
🕑 Added 2023-03-04 00:52:41 +0000 UTCWe have some news to share - while we had originally planned on making BBU a co-op game with Oscar, after much deliberation and consideration, we've decided to shift our focus towards the core design elements of the game. We believe that if we wanted to make this an effective co-op experience it would require us to increase our scope and budget significantly; instead, we want to put all of these resources into ensuring top tier quality for what makes BBU special.
Don't worry though - Oscar will still be included in single player segments as he is an integral part of the story and gameplay. While his role has changed from being a full time playable character, you'll still get plenty of opportunities throughout your adventure together!
Thank you so much for understanding why this change was necessary and I'm sure you're just as excited as we are for when BBU is released!

Maybe do what Gears for Breakfast did and Add Co-op after the game releases? A Hat in Time's Co-op released a Year later!

Thats still the intent! He will still be playable as a character and will get more focus with co-op removed as we can make him his own special linear missions

It’s fiiiine! I didn’t have anyone to play with anyway!! 😹 however since you’ve made him a “playable” character already why don’t you add some levels where you have to switch and play as him? That way the things specifically made for his gameplay will get used.

Totally understandable!! I don't think I would have anyone to play co-op with either way, haha!
I was looking forward to co-op, but it's fine if it means the game will be better. I was gonna spend most of my time with the game solo anyways.

Understandable. If the co-op was going to be forced or detract, best to shift focus.

Better single player is much better then having co-op in my books. I'm glad decisions are being made to ensure the core of the game isn't being compromised on
