Law and order in the country of “Mir” was maintained by the police.
Among the police, there were young elites.
Seo-hee was a standout even among those elites.
Despite being in her mid-twenties, she held a relatively high position.
She was far from being an incompetent parachute appointee.
Anyone looking at her record would agree that Seo-hee was exceptionally capable.
Her abilities were the kind that caught the eye of the so-called “high-ranking people.”
Thanks to that, she was able to rise quickly.
But that didn’t last long.
“I hereby sentence the defendant, Choi Seo-hee, to ‘livestock’ status for embezzlement and abetting heinous crimes!”
It happened suddenly.
Seo-hee was punished for crimes she hadn’t even committed.
It’s not that she was completely uninvolved.
The crimes were connected to her superior.
She’d had a vague idea, but it was the kind of situation where whistleblowing would only get her fired.
But she never imagined she’d end up in such danger because of it.
Moreover, since she had tacitly allowed some things, there was no way to escape.
“I never thought… it would come to this…”
The real problem came next.
Her superior needed a scapegoat to get off with a lighter punishment.
Someone to take all the responsibility in his place.
A mere lower-ranking officer wouldn’t do.
The scandal was growing, and if things went wrong, everyone involved could face the death penalty.
In that situation, Seo-hee was chosen as the scapegoat.
She was the perfect “elite” face.
Her rapid rise could easily be spun as the result of corruption.
Her superior poured all his resources into fabricating the case,
and as a result, Seo-hee was sentenced to “livestock” status.
Her superior did get a 30-year prison sentence,
but that was nothing compared to the livestock sentence.
It was one of the harshest punishments, erasing all human rights.
“So where am I going now…?”
From the moment she was sentenced, Seo-hee was no longer legally a “person.”
She was nothing more than “livestock.”
And as livestock, she was being transferred to the ranch.
Clunk-clunk-
In the dark, cramped back of a vehicle with not even a small window, Seo-hee sat.
She could sense nothing except that she was being transported somewhere.
Because she had been so rebellious,
control devices were attached all over her body.
“Smells a bit like dirt in here…”
A blindfold covered Seo-hee’s eyes,
and her body was tightly wrapped in a restraint suit.
She even had a gag in her mouth to keep her from screaming.
“Mmgh… ugh…”
Seo-hee tried to make a sound,
but only a muffled, ambiguous noise escaped the gag.
The only freedom she had was to wiggle her fingers or toes a little within the restraints.
“So uncomfortable…”
She felt like a mummy, her whole body tightly bound.
The restraint suit was connected to the seat,
and only her sense of smell and hearing let her gather any information.
“I’m probably being transferred to the ranch.”
A human ranch.
A word she’d once thought nothing of now filled her with dread.
“I can’t believe… I’m going to become livestock…”
Seo-hee had visited a ranch before, not out of curiosity, but for official business.
So images of how livestock were treated kept coming to mind.
Livestock crawling naked inside pens.
Just imagining it gave her goosebumps.
“Mmgh…! Ugh…”
She felt drool trickling from the gag in her mouth.
Because of the gag, saliva kept leaking out.
But in her current state, she couldn’t even wipe it away.
“I… I’m not livestock…”
She tried to calm herself with that thought,
but even she had to admit she was being treated like one.
Even as drool ran down her neck,
she wasn’t allowed to wipe it away.
“Mmgh…! Ugh…!”
Her growing anxiety quickly flared into panic,
and Seo-hee struggled desperately.
“I have to escape!”
She thrashed her arms and legs inside the restraint suit,
but the tough material didn’t tear-it only made her feel more helpless.
-Livestock disturbance detected.
A flat, mechanical voice came from somewhere.
Seo-hee couldn’t tell what it was.
All she felt was the pain of a needle piercing her.
“Mmgh…!! Ugh…! Ughhh!!”
Something was injected into her body.
Seo-hee tried to move away from the syringe,
but as soon as the drug entered her, her mind went foggy and her strength drained away.
-Subduing drug administration complete.
As sleepiness slowly overcame her, Seo-hee leaned back in her seat.
“My mind… is fading… my thoughts…”
Her consciousness faded,
but even so, Seo-hee could sense one thing:
When she woke up next, she would be at the ranch.
“I had a good feeling about today.”
After a steamy time in the bathroom,
I turned on the computer in nuna’s room and found an interesting email.
“Something up?”
Sua nuna, now in light clothing, approached curiously.
“Yeah. They say a new livestock is coming.”
“It’s not the usual season for new livestock…”
“Exactly. This isn’t a normal ‘livestock.’”
The email detailed the sudden addition of a new livestock.
A human who’d been reduced to livestock would arrive in a few days.
“Let’s see who it’ll be.”
This was a female-only ranch,
so all incoming livestock were women.
Scrolling down, I found detailed information about the incoming livestock.
[Name: Choi Seo-hee]
[Age: 26]
[Details: Became livestock as punishment for a crime.]
[Notes: Former police high official. Has strong pride and is expected to be highly resistant. Training and discipline may be difficult.]
There was even a photo attached.
Long silver hair that seemed to capture the moonlight.
Yellow eyes that looked like they wouldn’t easily yield.
She was beautiful-objectively and subjectively.
“Looks like I lucked out and got the best livestock.”
The livestock I’d seen when I first arrived was cute,
but Seo-hee was several times more beautiful.
On par with Eunji or Sua nuna.
Nuna seemed to think so too, commenting in admiration beside me.
“That’s good. She’s a beauty.”
“Yeah. At least I won’t be bored while training her.”
“But it says here she was a police officer?”
Scrolling down further,
there was even more detail about her crimes.
“High-ranking police officer who abetted heinous crimes and embezzled at least tens of billions…”
“She doesn’t look it-surprising.”
“Well, you can’t judge by appearances. But I agree with you to some extent.”
Usually, powerful people get off lightly even when punished.
Cases that should bring life sentences often get a slap on the wrist everywhere.
But the livestock sentence Seo-hee received was one of the harshest.
It was hard to believe someone who embezzled that much would be reduced to livestock so easily.
“And she’s awfully young for a high official.”
My guess was she was more of a figurehead.
It felt like the higher-ups had set her up to take the fall for a lighter sentence.
“Look, someone even higher up was involved.”
“Really?”
“It says here this person only got 30 years.”
The higher-up got 30 years,
but the person right below got the livestock sentence.
It was suspicious no matter how you looked at it.
“They say she was given the livestock sentence for being the main perpetrator…”
“Doesn’t that seem fishy?”
“So you think so too, nuna.”
“Probably the higher-up pinned the blame on her to get a lighter sentence.”
“I think so too. It’s probably a classic case of cutting off the tail.”
It was basically betrayal.
The subordinate took the fall,
while the boss claimed to be a bystander.
But from the subordinate’s perspective, it would be hard to escape, especially if she’d benefited in any way.
“Maybe her rapid promotion at a young age was related.”
“Maybe she committed fraud to get promoted?”
“Even if not, the higher-ups could have promoted and supported her just so they could use her as a scapegoat.”
“That makes sense.”
“Well, either way, it doesn’t matter to me.”
The important thing was that a beautiful woman was coming as livestock.
And it was my job to train and tame her.
“Guess I’ll just wait and see until she arrives.”
A smile spread across my face in anticipation.
