A cave so massive you could stack five bears on top of each other above your head.
According to the information in the bulletin, this place should be crawling with orcs.
Step-step-
With every step deeper into the cave, my footsteps echo.
There’s no way to sneak up on anything here.
But I planned to charge in head-on anyway, so it doesn’t matter.
I keep advancing, sword in hand, for quite a while.
But I don’t see a single orc.
In fact, there’s not even a single hair or shred of evidence that anything’s here.
Come to think of it, even the dumbest orc usually guards the entrance to its nest.
Even goblins know to do that.
“Haa... Was I tricked?”
Whoever did this really knows how to get on someone’s nerves.
To go out of their way to spread fake information about such a huge cave...
All I’ve done is waste my time.
“Let’s just go home.”
I need to build up achievements before I get forced into the army.
I don’t have time to waste in a huge, empty cave like this.
I head back toward the cave entrance.
But no matter how long I walk, I can’t see the entrance at all.
“What the hell is this?”
It hasn’t even been an hour since I came inside.
If I’ve been walking this long toward the exit, I should have seen it by now.
Even if I thought I was lost, this cave is a straight tunnel-there’s no way to get lost.
That means there’s only one answer.
Magic.
“Shit...”
A cave set up with both fake information and magic.
I stop and look around.
I focus as much as I can, but there’s nothing unusual to see.
Getting out is impossible.
So, is it possible to go further in instead?
Just thinking about it is pointless.
I have to try for myself.
Step-step-
My annoyed footsteps echo in the cave.
Fortunately, it seems I can go deeper, as the terrain is gradually changing.
If there’s no exit or way to break the magic deeper in, I’ll die anyway, but as long as I’m alive, I have to try everything I can.
“Who the hell made a cave this damn big?”
I can’t help but curse.
I’m not in immediate danger,
but a slow death is even worse than a quick one.
Will there really be a way out if I go deeper?
Whoever set this up is seriously malicious.
I could finally reach the end and be met with a “Surprise, you’ve been tricked!” situation.
“Shit.”
Just imagining it pisses me off.
Knowing my chances of survival are slim but having no choice but to go forward is even more brutal.
How long have I been walking?
After what feels like forever, I finally start to see something unexpected.
A human figure.
For a moment, I wonder if I’m hallucinating, but even after rubbing my eyes, it’s definitely a person.
My heart races as I hurry forward.
Whoever it is, they must be connected to this cave.
First, I’ll beat them up and ask questions later.
That’s what I think as I approach, but as the figure comes into focus, I can’t help but swallow hard.
Fiery, flame-like hair.
Beautiful, ruby-like eyes.
A red dress that contrasts with her pale skin.
A seductive figure with an exposed cleavage.
A beauty who looks like a goddess of fire stands before me.
“You arrived sooner than I expected.”
Her beautiful voice tickles my ears,
but her words are nothing but irritating.
“Sooner?”
I glare at her, full of hostility.
She looks at me arrogantly and speaks with elegant, haughty words.
“I was just bored. I’ll at least listen to your last words.”
“Last words, my ass. I’m the hero who came to kick your ass, you bastard.”
Annoyed, I declare myself a hero for the first time and start swearing.
But her reaction is different than I expected.
Her expression, as if she was about to take out the trash, changes to one of curiosity and intrigue.
“Hero? That’s an interesting claim.”
“If you don’t believe me, go ask the kingdom.”
“Let’s say for argument’s sake you are a hero-why did you invade my nest?”
Invade? What’s she talking about?
She’s clearly not an orc.
But she calls this her nest?
We’re clearly not on the same page.
“Invade? I just came to wipe out the orc nest.”
The odd atmosphere calms my irritation.
“This is my nest. Not some filthy orc den.”
Her words are delivered with overwhelming pressure.
My skin feels like it’s burning, my blood dries up, and my head, which was full of irritation, suddenly goes cold.
A dragon.
A powerful being that can polymorph into a human and builds nests.
As the thought hits me, cold sweat runs down my back.
Shit... Why did it have to be a dragon here?
I had bad luck even on Earth, but this is just too much.
“Hmm... I see.”
Her fiery, intimidating aura makes my words come out polite without even thinking.
This is a life-or-death crisis.
A succubus? An ogre? They don’t even compare.
“It seems you made a mistake. But no matter how unintentional, you’ve committed the crime of intruding on my nest. You deserve to die.”
Dozens of massive fireballs appear behind her.
Even from this distance, I can feel the heat.
I don’t need to be hit to know how powerful they are.
Stay calm and think fast.
If I fight, I’ll get utterly destroyed.
I have to talk my way out of this.
“There’s a misunderstanding!”
“Speak.”
“It wasn’t a mistake-I was tricked into coming here.”
“Tricked? By whom?”
Who tricked me?
I don’t know. If I did, I’d already be beating them up.
But I can’t answer honestly.
This dragon isn’t some benevolent spirit who’ll spare me for being truthful.
So, I come up with a plausible scapegoat.
“I was tricked by the Demon King!”
“The Demon King?”
She seems a bit surprised by the unexpected answer.
Honestly, I don’t know if it was the Demon King or some other crazy person.
But if there’s anyone who fits the role of evil mastermind, it’s the Demon King.
“I heard rumors that the Demon King has appeared.”
Maybe this will work.
There’s no one more suited to the title of “worst villain” than the Demon King.
“The Demon King schemed against me, the hero! If you spare me, I’ll bring you their head!”
Words flow out of my mouth like a con artist possessed.
The Demon King might be unfairly blamed, but what can I do?
If they didn’t want this, they should’ve been the hero instead.
Or just lived a good life and avoided suspicion in the first place.
“Hmmm...”
Maybe my desperate plea worked, because she seems to consider it and then makes the fireballs disappear.
“Fine. I’ll spare you.”
“Truly, your dragonic mercy is legendary-I’ll sing your praises to all future generations.”
“But!”
Her sharp gaze pierces me.
My skin tingles from head to toe.
Her overwhelming presence makes me feel like all the blood in my body is evaporating.
“If you commit a crime, you must pay the price.”
Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
My bad premonitions are usually right.
She gestures playfully, as if delivering a death sentence.
“Become my slave.”
What? What the hell...
If you’re going to spare me, just let me go-why make me a slave?
A dragon taking a hero as a slave-does that even make sense?
“Are you serious?”
I glare at her, trying to show some resistance.
But immediately, hundreds of blazing fireballs fill the cave.
“Do you have a problem with that?”
The world is ruled by the logic of power.
I learned the meaning of that firsthand.
No matter how much I complain, if a dragon says something, it’s law.
Better to keep my head attached, even if my pride takes a hit.
“...No, I don’t.”
And so began my totally unexpected life as a slave.
I came to wipe out an orc nest and ended up as a dragon’s slave-never saw that coming.
“A wise choice. My name is Leia, and I will be your master from now on. Serve me loyally until the day you die. Now, I’ll show you around the nest, so follow me.”
Leia turned and started walking deeper into the cave.
Her tight red dress accentuated her hips, stealing my gaze.
Her swaying, seductive hips stoked my desire.
A beautiful figure and face.
They say dragons usually choose their own preferences when they polymorph.
With such a provocative appearance, she must have a sex drive too, right?
And the ultimate reason for polymorphing is to enjoy being in a human body.
One of humanity’s pleasures is sex, after all.
There are even historical records of people suspected to be children of dragons.
Thinking about it, maybe this isn’t such a bad deal.
Even as a slave, if I can stay close to her, I’ll get my chance someday.
Yeah... Now that it’s come to this, I’ll make her regret that decision.
