Clunk-clunk-screech-
The shaking car came to a stop.
At the same time, Seo-hee, who had been asleep, slowly regained consciousness.
‘Where… am I…?’
Even with her mind still foggy, Seo-hee desperately tried to think.
But there wasn’t much she could figure out.
She was being transported, her freedom restricted by a restraint suit.
And now the car had stopped.
‘Could it be… I’ve arrived…’
The first thing Seo-hee felt upon waking was anxiety.
Perhaps because she’d just woken from drugged sleep, the sense of helplessness was even stronger.
The car had stopped.
That meant she’d reached her destination.
“Mmgh…! Ugh…! Ngh…!”
Seo-hee tried to move her arms and legs to escape.
But the drugs left her too weak to muster any strength.
And even if she’d had her full strength, escaping would have been impossible.
As she struggled in her anxiety,
she heard the sound of a door opening.
Creeeak-
With the door opening came a faint breeze.
From the sensation, Seo-hee realized someone had opened the door.
She instinctively froze, stopping her movements.
‘Who… who is it…?’
The most likely was the driver.
But she sensed the presence of two people.
“You’re the one here to take over, Mr. Suheon, right?”
It was a gruff voice she’d heard before.
‘That voice must be the driver… so the one called Suheon must be…’
Suddenly, Seo-hee felt a chill run through her.
The word “person in charge.”
She didn’t need to think deeply-it was the term for a staff member at the ranch.
“Mmgh…! Ngh…! Ngh…!!”
Seo-hee made noises, trying to ask to be let go.
But with the gag in her mouth, even she couldn’t make out her own words.
“She seems to be in better shape than I expected for such a long transfer.”
“She’s a bit noisy, but since it hasn’t been long since the drug was administered, she should be easy to move.”
Seo-hee could clearly hear the two men’s conversation.
But their words treated her as livestock.
‘Let me go! Don’t you know who I am?’
An elite among police,
Seo-hee’s pride was stronger than anyone’s, having risen to the top at a young age.
She was proud of her abilities.
But now, all she could do was make strange noises and move weakly.
“Hmm… she seems livelier than I thought.”
“Right?”
“If it’s too much, should I help you get her to the pen?”
“No, I can handle it. You must be tired from the long drive.”
Their conversation was full of casual humanity.
Seo-hee could almost see it.
But she was completely excluded from that conversation.
To be precise, she was being ignored on the level of a barking animal.
“Then please sign here.”
After the signature,
Seo-hee sensed someone entering.
Clang-clang-
She heard footsteps on a metal floor.
‘Is it the person in charge, Suheon? Or the driver…?’
It was the driver who entered.
He released the restraints and lifted Seo-hee’s body, still wrapped in the restraint suit, as if carrying an object.
“Mmgh…! Ugh…! Ngh…!!”
The sensation of being lifted.
Realizing she was in someone’s hands, Seo-hee instinctively struggled.
But the driver wore an annoyed expression and walked on without concern.
He was experienced enough that this level of resistance was nothing. He’d transported much tougher men before.
“Mmgh…!! Ngh…! Ngh…!!”
“Here you go.”
“Thank you for your hard work.”
“This kind of resistance is common.”
Seo-hee was handed over into Suheon’s arms.
Her struggling lessened.
It was much harder to resist with her feet on the ground than being carried in the air.
Her legs were bound together so tightly she couldn’t spread them, and even the slightest wrong move could make her fall.
On top of that, the blindfold prevented her from seeing her surroundings.
‘To have to rely on some unknown ranch staff…! How humiliating…’
Seo-hee had no choice but to depend on Suheon.
Unable to move properly,
with both a blindfold and a gag, she needed someone’s help.
Vroooom-
Soon after, she heard the car drive away.
Left alone with Suheon, Seo-hee made sounds as if trying to speak.
“Mmgh…! Mmgh…!! Ngh…!”
“Seems like you want to say something?”
“Mmgh!!”
Seo-hee nodded her head vigorously-almost to the point of falling over.
She was that desperate.
‘Maybe I can persuade this person…’
A faint hope.
But the voice that came back was playful.
“I understand you probably have a lot to say, suddenly becoming livestock…”
Suheon paused, then continued.
“But after you go through training, you’ll naturally come to understand.”
Seo-hee felt her hope shatter.
Suheon’s voice was full of interest and enjoyment regarding “training.”
‘I have to escape.’
“Training.”
Seo-hee knew exactly what that meant.
Most people who become livestock resist at first.
So there are methods to make them recognize their new status.
And making them accept themselves as livestock is what’s called “training.”
“Mmgh…! Ngh…!!”
“Careful… you’d better stay still. If you move like that, you’ll fall over.”
Despite Suheon’s warning, Seo-hee kept struggling,
and as a result, she felt herself topple over.
Thud.
“Mmgh…!”
The shock of hitting the hard ground spread through her body.
Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt much.
Thanks to the restraint suit and a rush of adrenaline.
And she didn’t have time to care about that.
‘I have to get as far away as possible!’
Seo-hee crawled on the ground, trying to get even a little farther from Suheon.
It felt humiliating,
but escaping was more important.
Suheon quietly watched as she tried to crawl away.
‘It’s probably better for her to realize she can’t escape.’
Crawling Seo-hee.
She looked like a caterpillar.
Even so, Seo-hee moved desperately.
‘Even if she crawls like that, she won’t get away.’
Trying to escape at a caterpillar’s pace, the result was obvious.
Even if she tried again the next day, she’d be found easily.
“Seems like you really want to get away.”
“Mmgh… mmgh…!”
“I’m not sure what you’re saying, but I’ll take it as a yes.”
Suheon’s voice sounded in her ear.
To Seo-hee, it felt like he was mocking her.
After all, she was crawling on the ground like a bug.
Hearing polite speech in that situation only felt like ridicule.
Suheon had no particular intention-he just used polite language because she was older,
but to Seo-hee it brought shame and humiliation.
‘To… to show such a humiliating side to a guy like this…!’
Step-step-
Seo-hee heard Suheon approaching.
Then a whisper close to her ear.
“Ten minutes.”
The sudden whisper made Seo-hee flinch in surprise.
“Mmgh…!”
“I’ll give you ten minutes.”
“Mmgh…?”
Seo-hee made a confused sound, not understanding what he meant by giving her time.
Suheon could tell as much.
“If you can crawl more than ten steps away in ten minutes, I’ll let you go.”
Letting livestock go free was a serious crime for ranch staff.
So Seo-hee didn’t believe Suheon would actually release her.
‘Still… if it’s just ten steps in ten minutes…’
All she could do was cling to that faint hope.
“Alright, ready… go!”
Beep-
With the sound of a phone timer, Seo-hee began to move.
But it wasn’t as easy as she’d thought.
If she could see, maybe, but crawling blindfolded was hard enough.
Especially moving in a straight line was even harder.
“Mmgh…! Mmgh…!”
From moving so hard, drool was pouring from her mouth.
Sweat poured down inside the stifling restraint suit.
And soon, the sound signaling the end of the game rang out.
Beep-beep-beep-beep!
“Time’s up.”
Seo-hee stopped moving.
There was no way to escape in that restraint suit anyway.
All she could do was pray she’d made it more than ten steps away.
‘How far did I get…?’
Seo-hee caught her breath and focused all her attention on her ears.
Step-
One step.
Step-
Another step.
As the footsteps drew closer, her anxiety grew.
But it didn’t last long.
Soon, she heard Suheon’s footsteps right beside her.
Step-
“Caught you in just three steps. Now that you’re tired out, let’s quietly head inside.”
Three steps.
Despite her desperate struggle, she’d only gotten three steps away from Suheon.
‘I can’t escape…’
Seo-hee realized one thing:
He’d done all this just to show her she couldn’t escape.
