Since it was nearly impossible for a lieutenant with less than two years’ service to have committed something like “embezzlement,” Sergeant Park and I decided to focus our inspection on “sexual conduct violations” as we headed here. Honestly, with a healthy man in his twenties surrounded by women, it’s impossible not to get into some trouble.
Of course, in a typical unit, consensual sex between men and women isn’t a problem, but in a “co-ed unit” like this one, it’s a different story. Unlike other units, “sex” itself is strictly forbidden by special regulations in co-ed units. The plan was to collect as much solid evidence as possible, get testimonies from those involved, and wrap up the inspection quickly.
Although the endless list of video files was daunting, with my partner Sergeant Park a veteran in this field on the job, I was sure she’d find something interesting soon. So, while waiting for her update, I headed toward the 3rd Battery, where Lieutenant Kim Jaejun had previously served as a platoon leader.
...
“I’m Major Kim Sojeong from the Corps Inspector General’s Office. Please read the survey carefully and fill it out in detail.”
Ding.
As I distributed the surveys to the soldiers gathered in the multipurpose room, my phone chimed with a message.
[There’s something between Lieutenant Kim Jaejun and 3rd Battery Commander Captain Lee Seona.]
I pulled out my phone and, just as expected, there was an intriguing message from Sergeant Park.
“Well then, I’ll be back in ten minutes.”
Since I planned to step out while the soldiers filled out their surveys, I left the multipurpose room and headed back to the operations room.
After a brisk walk, I returned to the operations room, which felt even more tense than when I’d left. Sergeant Park nodded and smiled faintly as she saw me. When I approached, she played a video for me.
Click!
The footage showed a hallway. A door labeled “Physical Training Room” opened, and a man and a woman appeared one after another. At first, nothing seemed unusual except the woman’s somewhat revealing attire, but then something happened that made me say “Wow” out loud.
As soon as the man closed the door and turned around, the woman reached for his crotch and kissed him lightly. It was obvious to anyone they were at least “friends with benefits” and the pair in the video were none other than today’s main targets: Lieutenant Kim Jaejun and Captain Lee Seona.
“Nice work, Sergeant Park. Looks like we’ll be getting off early today after all.”
...
About 20 minutes after Sergeant Park started combing through the CCTV, just as she’d told me not to approach, Major Kim Sojeong returned to the operations room. Both their faces brightened noticeably, and my anxiety spiked.
Soon after, they called Seona and me to the library. The moment I saw their faces, I knew my fears were justified.
“Alright. We’re all busy people, so let’s make this quick.”
Click!
With a confident tone, Major Kim looked between Seona and me and played a video on her laptop. The footage showed the hallway outside the training room, and then a scene where, right after sex, Seona still flushed touched my crotch.
Our faces went pale as Major Kim’s hard voice rang out.
“You two... you had sex, didn’t you?”
For a moment, Major Kim and Sergeant Park looked like grim reapers.
Ah! I need to send an SOS to Aunt Yumi...
...
“I’ll say it again: that’s not true. What you see in the video was really just an accident.”
“Lieutenant Kim Jaejun, do you think we’re just going to say ‘Oh, is that so?’ and let this go? You could end up being sent to the military police!”
For about ten minutes, I stubbornly denied the accusation, even as the two inspectors, now confident they had us, pressed harder. Major Kim’s tone, polite at first, grew louder and shifted from persuasion to threats.
“No matter what you say, I did nothing wrong.”
I kept repeating the same line for another five minutes, stonewalling as best I could. Realizing they wouldn’t get a confession from me, they turned their attention to Seona.
“Come on... Captain Lee Seona, you’re a captain you know how serious this is, right?”
“...”
“Looks like you’ve had good evaluations since becoming a captain, and you’re on track for major... Wouldn’t it be a shame to lose your career over this? If you cooperate, we can make this go away smoothly.”
“Even so, my answer is the same. Like Lieutenant Kim said, what you saw was just an accident when I turned around to ask something.”
Despite Major Kim’s blatant attempt at persuasion, Seona, like me, insisted it was an accident. Under the table, she reached for my hand and squeezed it, sharing her warmth and helping calm my nerves.
Major Kim slammed her paper cup down in frustration.
“I was trying to make this easy, but you two just don’t get it. Sergeant Park.”
“Yes. I’ll call the MPs right away.”
Whether she meant it or was just trying to scare us, Sergeant Park picked up her phone as soon as “military police” was mentioned. At that moment, the library door burst open and Aunt Yumi strode in, followed by my classmate Minju and the supply sergeant.
This was the SOS I’d sent when the inspectors confronted us with the video.
“What’s going on here?”
Major Kim, surprised and irritated by the sudden appearance of three people, asked why Aunt Yumi was there. Instead of answering, Aunt Yumi glanced sharply at Minju and the supply sergeant behind her and said quietly,
“Grab them.”
The moment the word left her lips, the two moved like predators, pouncing on Major Kim and Sergeant Park.
Rattle.
“W-what the ugh!...”
The inspectors, caught off guard, barely managed to stand as Minju and the supply sergeant quickly subdued them. The supply sergeant, with her superior build, easily restrained Sergeant Park, but Minju, being slimmer and only a bit shorter than Major Kim, struggled to subdue her.
I stepped in and, with overwhelming strength, finished restraining Major Kim.
With the struggle over, the library was filled with the inspectors’ heavy breathing and protests as Aunt Yumi, arms crossed, began to speak.
“Ma’am, what do you think you’re doing? Tell them to let us go!”
“Major Kim, Sergeant Park. I’ve found out you came here with an agenda. If I just sit back, not only Jaejun but the whole battalion could be destroyed. You think I’m going to let that happen?”
With her arms crossed, her “massive breasts” pushed forward, Aunt Yumi verbally skewered the two inspectors.
She then turned on her phone camera, started recording, and approached Major Kim, who was being held by the supply sergeant.
Click, click, click...
“If we just let you go, you’ll run straight to corps HQ with that video. So we need some insurance, too.”
“St-stop...”
Ignoring Major Kim’s pleas, Aunt Yumi began unbuttoning her uniform jacket. As her face went pale, she kept repeating, “Stop.”
Zip
Ignoring her, Aunt Yumi started unzipping her jacket, and Major Kim, now panicked, thrashed wildly. But with Seona’s help, she was quickly subdued, and Aunt Yumi pulled the zipper all the way down, lifted the bottom of her shirt, and exposed her skin.
A desperate scream echoed through the library.
“Nooooooo!”
