Babus Devlog #87: The Medal Shop

I hope the new year is treating you well! Today I’m here to introduce a feature that’s going to revolutionize Problematic Subjects: the Medal Shop, a screen where you’ll be able to buy trinkets.
What are trinkets, you may ask? These items will help you unlock extra game features that will make your life easier. For example, in the next version you’ll be able to get the following trinkets:
Fox Mask: allows you to change the student in the gallery.
Paper Mike: allows you to view basic dialogues in the gallery.
Nerd Glasses: allow you to see pose tags before playing them.
Victorian Pipe: allows you to see hints to obtain secret poses and endings.
(You might be wondering what secret poses and endings are. I’m not revealing that yet, but you can probably guess. ;D)
In the Medal Shop, not only can you buy these items, but you’ll also be able to activate or deactivate them whenever you want. Oh! I almost forgot. To buy these trinkets, you’ll need to spend medals, which you’ll earn every time you complete a run. You’ll receive one medal for trying, two medals if you manage to beat the level, and three if you do exceptionally well.
The main idea for the Medal Shop is to gradually introduce changes to make the experience better, while at the same time properly explaining these changes and giving some sense of progression. Expect a lot of quality of life improvements from now on! :D
If you’re curious, try the latest available dev build, where the Medal Shop is already implemented. ;D
