ERADICATOR IS WEIRD CRUNCHY DOS JANK
🕑 Added 2024-02-26 14:55:53 +0000 UTCSomehow, Civvie made a video that was almost under 30 minutes while discussing a strange and confounding relic of the DOS era. Been sitting on this game for a while since people told me about it a long, long time ago, after which I immediately bought it on Steam, played it for an hour, got frustrated, and put it on the backburner until I felt like touching it again.
This episode is also very heavy on the idea that Civvie is slipping more and more into complete paranoid delusion which I promise is a bit and not reflective of my own mental health. I am, surprisingly, doing quite well, despite the abundance of Bubsy the Bobcat jokes in this video and the fact that I actually captured my own Bubsy 3D footage.
Also, that bit with Bubsy towards the beginning where he "brushes his teeth" is yet another gag I've wanted to do for years that wasn't possible until I got better at editing and paid Adobe more every month for After Effects. Indeed, what could pawsibly go wrong?
Voiceover may sound a bit different in this one since circumstances beyond my control forced me to move my office and put up different soundproofing. So it goes. I strive to sound like I'm coming from a sub-basement but also to not sound too shitty. This desperate balancing act between "terrible ideas that kind of work as jokes" and "having to occasionally appear to be a professional YouTuber" is the lifeblood of this show.

An Accolade DOS jank FPS from back when I was 13 that I’ve never even heard about?! Hell yes - stick it in my veins! Fun episode, man. 🙂👍 As a side note, I’m not familiar with Bubsy, and initially thought the ’teeth brushing’ -gag was legit footage. So… well done! (And/or that one Happy Tree Friends dose just once with good friends only, I swear, a long time ago may have left me with some desensitization and residual brain damage.)

I like how you keep a very distinct character from you. I know playing a bit can sometimes take on a life of its own, and often actors have a hard time separating themselves from their characters. Glad you made the distinction between the two, and made the clarification that you are doing absolutely fine.

Hell yeah, love me some DOS jank! Speaking of Civvie's descent into madness and paranoia, would we possibly one day see a canonical explanation / deep-dive of the world lore? I totally get and understand a lot of it is probably just throwaway jokes and ideas, but the overarching cosmic horror vibe along with conspiracy theories and black sites just scratches a lot of very specific itches.
