Still don't get how she thinks she could have Raiven as anithing but sex-slave that's full of hatred. She was capable of infiltration just ok, so she shouldn understand how "outer" people work... All the misery that she and hers brought to the realm just can't be put aside.

No. That isn't what's happening here. Someone else in the comments somewhere else (don't remember which chapter, but I remember seeing it) correctly guessed what happened with the Ascended.

Maakolo

Wait wait wait wait. Isnt Tenrik doing here the same thing that the Ascended did to Reivyn? Just with Reivyn it was complete.

Maakolo

Btw, anyone know when the last full status screen was?

Maakolo

Then, perhaps the masked man sent Reivyn to Tenrik to be integrated into their faction so that he can later turn on him and destroy/capture the empire from the inside? That would explain why he didn't tell him the truth. Reivyn could conceivably marry into the family and inherit the empire if his relationship with Tenrik gets good enough. If it isnt that good he'll still be prince consort to the queen, if Aeriella inherits. If Tenrik is so opposed to the Abyss, wouldnt that mean he would kill Reivyn immediately upon discovering his nature as having control over Abyssal mana and it not being considered heretical for him. I hope his balanced soul thing has nothing to do with the Abyss, rather some daoist-like concept. Also, about the tower, why wouldnt you just use an abyssal dungeon instead. It might be a tool to permanently sever the connection between the Abyssal and Veridical Realms though, or something similar like erecting a barrier between them. Space/Time users are simply so rare that they will find a use of Kefira regardless of whether that's their plan or not. The masked man could have been referencing some other Abyss faction's plan, and Tenrik's Empire could just be on the defensive.

Derek Walker

Corruption was first mentioned in Chapter 45 when Reivyn fell into the ritual bath. Red mentioned "I'll put a barrier up in your mana circuits. It'll automatically filter out any corruption you come into contact with in the future." Something similar likely occurred to Tenrik a long time ago, and because he had a strong enough bloodline, he was able to survive but without the help of someone like Red the corruption stayed behind. However, the corruption for some reason is likely preventing ascension for him. (Vynn said Reivyn wouldn't last long, but Kyfe said this was relative to his age, meaning Reivyn might live a normal live but never ascend) This could indicate part of their mission: Eliminating corruption/the remnants of the abyss from the world. It also explains what attracted Aeirella to the abyss-connected spider. The masked man has the opposite goal, namely to reconcile/make peace between the two realms (Here I am assuming his grand speech was a ruse, and that he's more benevolently disposed toward Reivyn and being an actual neutral good/guy than the villain). The masked man's speech is interesting. Assuming Tenrik and his empire are in some sense native to the realm, the masked man could have been referencing their plan, but in reverse. Tenrik hates corruption so it could be they want to invade another realm, in part to gather enough resources for more people to ascend. This puts him at odds with the masked man. The tower could be used as a device to bridge the gap between realms, which is why space/time mages are so valued.

Kyfe

This will be answered when everything around Reivyn's and the twins' Bloodline is explained.

Maakolo

It hasnt been explained, probably cuz most people just dont know, but is 100 minor thresholds in the bloodline a "perfectly pure" bloodline? Is it possible for someone to have over 100 minor thresholds? Edit: Ok, I feel like im spamming Kyfe now... Sorry about that.

Kyfe

It's not all for Tenrick. It's the lower for the upper, at each stage. There's a whole cabal at the top with Tenrick being the leader.

Maakolo

I wonder what their "mission" is. Is it just the ascension of their monarch? Since their empire seems to worship their monarch it wouldn't be unexpected... But there are some inconsistencies for that to be the case, such as how relatively irreverent Aeriella's master is towards the monarch's favourite daughter.

Traellium

Sounds about right, the plan is 1000+ chapters

Eifer

Damn, this is going to be one long story without some massive time skips or insane encounters of opportunity if the story follows Reyvin all the way through tier 8

Maakolo

Oh, theres so many possible outcomes right now depending mostly on the timing of events.

Maakolo

Somehow I doubt it. Reivyn landed in Drallo just before Aeriella's invasion and subsequently caught her eye. I think its more likely the Masked Fate Caster is using Tenrik's faction to give access to cultivation aids such as information to Reivyn. Whatever purpose he needs Reivyn for, he needs him to be strong, and he's approaching the limits of what the lower regions can offer. Im sure he can probably perfect his foundation in the lower regions, but developing further would require a higher tier faction. Becoming the husband of the favourite daughter of the factions leader is a sure way to all the support he could need. Tenrik is likely being used to strengthen Reivyn and Kefira, maybe even Reivyn's sisters. Remember how Serilla was unsure why Kefira had chosen to go to that lizard tribe for her Life Experience? Well, that stinks of Fate manipulation, so that they meet Reivyn, and then just happen to be in the perfect place to intercept the Drallo invasion. Also, Aeriella passed through the portal right when Reivyn was sabotaging it. Had he been 30 seconds earlier he would have destroyed it no problem.

Derek Walker

The masked man way back when talked about manipulating Fate. Providence sounds suspiciously similar. I feel that the masked man is really trying to oppose whatever Tenrik is doing, or at the very least they are working toward similar goals, but oppose each other. Not sure if we saw the full status screen here, but it was not listed as a legendary feat, so presumably others have done what Tenrik did here.

Maakolo

Eh, ive rooted for worse characters (in terms of ethics).

TheeGreenBean

Glad we’re getting back into the rhythm of things. I hope you can keep it up

Kyfe

There are Tier 8 Cultivators in the Tier 8 Sects, but they're not max Level. Reaching max Level in Tier 8 is still incredibly rare.

IWannaBeATiger

She has that pet spider though

Bosparan

Thanks for the chapter Love the insight chapters showing the other side :)

Nanooki12

Amazing chapter. I love both characters. That is something this novel does really well.

Maakolo

Thanks for the chapter! Does the existance of Tier 8 Sects not imply that ascension isnt nearly as rare as the lower Tier Regions think? Was that tower meant as a tool to initiate ascension?

rams

what chappie showed her bloodline?

Derek Walker

Also, seems very likely for Reivyn to win in a fight now right? By the time they meet, he will have transcendent weapons master as well as he's gained about 30 more levels worth of stats since their first battle.

Derek Walker

It still seems odd to me Aeriella has such a relatively weak bloodline with such a presumably powerful father who even seems to have a divine class. Also, it was implied in the last interlude her father isn't even considered an elder, which implies there are even bigger threats than him. On the other hand, even the tier 7 sect had only a few tier 7 elders, so I guess the relative power scaling here seems a little weird. One more throwaway question, does anyone in the empire have a skill level over 300? 500?

Joshua LaBarge

Thanks for the chapter, cant wait to see where this will go
