LA

It just feels too easy to get the skills via his subconscious. But the bigger road block/problem is as a reader we don't have a clear reference to what skills are common, uncommon and rare to get. We only know what the mc have. His mom and dad have skills but what they are we don't know or any other person for that matter. So when a pseudo divine skill pops up, it feels wrong. For me at least. Maybe it is commen for people in tier 4 or 5 to have these kind of skills?

Kyfe

The way he got the Skill was almost identical to the way he got Weapons Master, though. He built his foundation over a decent amount of time: Battlefield Awareness, Mana Sense, Mana Sight, Spatial Awareness; all perception Skills. Then, he's put into a situation where he's subconsciously merging them together to form the Skill. It's almost exactly the same, he just didn't spar for years with his dad to build those foundational Skills up, they increased organically.

SodaBoBomb

Kind of agree. Reiven didn't have to earn these skills at all, he just got crushed by a Boulder and they magically appeared. I really liked his Weapons Master and most of his magic skills because he earned them. Everything since the events of the bridge between worlds has been more along the lines of "thing happens to MC and knocks him out. While he's unconscious, he unlocks super skills for some reason." Except his Leadership and other military skills like with maps and such. Those were earned, and earned well imo. I'm really liking that aspect. I really like everything else in this story. The characters are great, the fights are great, the military stuff is very well done which is rare its just...his moms gonna be like "whoa how'd you get a Domain at Tier 2 that's crazy! You must've been inspired or be a genius or have put a ton of work in!" And then Reiven just like "Nah I got hit by a rock and almost died and it just kinda unlocked itself." Some of the ones he got during this fever dream sequence are fine. Regeneration makes sense, the mana drain and such make sense. It's just...a hard hit + Fever dream = Pseudo Divine? I am 100% willing to see where this goes though, and even if I never like this particular thing, the rest is good enough that I'll keep going.

usa1ph

Love how Reivyn is concerned about his future training sessions.

Steven Thompsen

I think you did a great job so far you can tell this has been a long time in the making and like you said it's already a struggle to use the skill

Chrisbirdie

My guess would be that it will take him to tier 4 to even level the new skills to 60. If not even tier 5. I mean he got 1 levelup in basically a week of pure practice

Guilherme Paschoaletto

I don't see him getting these skills as something "too early". The Mythic Skill, his father "knew" how to get it, which is a fusion of lower tier skills by a change of perspective. The same thing happened in chapter 8 where he got Spatial Awareness. Apparently, the secret to unlocking some higher tier Skills is to have lower tier ones with synergy and try to use all of them together.

Derek Walker

By analogy, tier one was consolidating the skills and affinities gained before tier 1, tier 3 will be a similar consolidation and development of skills gained at tier 2. Plus whatever broken class stuff is going to come with a true mythic tier 3 class. (Note his class skills, which are already broken, are really only about legendary) Tier 4 will probably see divine stuff become more relevant.

Enxes

I like that he gained the skills now, I think the tier discrepancy between him and his challenges are the reason he could gain them in the first place. But I can see how some people think it's too early. He got a mythic level skill with weapons master before he was tier 1. Now he has 2 semi-divine skills while in tier 2. At Tier 3 does he have to get Ascended level skills to keep pace with his previous power spike? Let's just see what the author has for us. It's been great so why worry?

Vralnii

Lmao, all that and he is worried about how hellish training with Refix will be when his dad learns about the Divine and Mana skills ... plus Regeneration. Or, given his 'love to run' personality, he is actually looking forward to the additional training options now available. He cracks me up. Thanks for the chapter.

Kyfe

Two things: he could Parry while being hoisted around by someone else, not fully fight. It is limited to only physical reaction at this point. He will have to Level the Skill up to make it do more than that, and as a Tier 6.5 Skill, it will take a long time. Also, I laid the foundations for this Skill in chapter 8, I'm not sure how getting it 120 chapters later is "too early," lol. Second, I laid the foundations for him having trouble with these Skills in this chapter.

Xtriver

I kind of agree, perhaps to balance it out, Reivyn could have a hard time figuring these skills out? He got them when he was essentially unconscious, having difficulties with achieving proper state of mind or perspective sounds reasonable.

LA

Hmm I was not so happy about the development of this chapter. The mc is getting too powerful skills too early, the Divine skills, and even when he is beaten half to death and unconscious, he can stil fight. Why not let him wake up for a short time to help with ambush, where he gets the tier 5 skills. Before falling asleep again. He does have the mental fortitude and iron will skills to help him through the pain. Remember that he is only at tier 2, what is there to learn when he gets to the other tiers? Save the domain thing to tier 3 and then upgrade it to the Divine version at tier 4 or later. I really dont think he deserves the divine skills this early in the story. Right now it feels like every thing is just handed to him. It is not fun to read, but maybe its just me.

Kyfe

For Sabotage, he would have to do it more. Sure he destroyed something important and powerful, but he needs a bit more experience in doing it. He got infiltration because he already had the Stealth Skills, but he doesn't have any foundational destroying property kind of Skills. There are no Mind Control Skills. The Masked Man can tug at the strings of fate. I don't want to explain the details of that in a comment, but it will be revealed eventually. He was intoxicated with a spiked drink which is what lowered his inhibitions, and he had that strong pull to find out what was on the other side of the door, but he wasn't Mind Controlled into doing so. When Reivyn gets the chance, he'll do some research on it, but he's been kind of busy, lol.

Bilal Williams

I said on previous post the class is her only real value but I understand the need to appease the spectrum of readers. I will always speak my opinion tho

Private Writer

Ok, I got it. It is about progression based on characters, but I still have this image of his mother insisting he get the life affinity and have a backup in healing himself after the dungeon altercation, when he fell in the cauldron, as those are situations where his bodyguards cant be there to watch his back. I am writing from my mobile, and whenever I try to press enter for new line, I keep sending the message, then I edit in the later questions. You were so fast in replying, thank you for that btw, I think I only finished editing in questions 7 and 8 after you replied🙈 Can I get an answer to them too?

Freedcats

And for that we both shake our fist and thank you!

Kyfe

It was literally about time. Reivyn had a clear goal to accomplish with his time in the Tier 1 Region. The way I designed the story, I had the plan of him getting sent far away from very early on, but only I as the author knew that. I had the characters create their own goals and schedules to accomplish those goals, because they didn't know they were on a time limit. The plan was to continue gaining more and more affinities over time, but then I threw a wrench in their plans.

Private Writer

I have a few questions I want to ask: 1. for a training maniac, why did he not learn life, sun and Celestial affinities he came across from his parents' subordinates and his mother? 2. If he had he could have had more versatility, not to mention the ability to heal himself and his party, especially in a dungeon with life affinity, why didnt he aquire it? 3. I have always wondered about that. Now I have a theory that you had Regenaration in your mind from when you plotted out the story and since you planed for that, you had a blindside about the life affinity? 4. Because to be real for having a overprotective and knowledgeable mage mother she did not seem to have insisted on Revyin to learn different ways of healing himself, either with the life affinity or the healing skill she had. So in hindsight, I could only conclude that it was forgotten due to planed Regeneration skill acquisition later. Am I right, or is there something else at play here? 5. And speaking of affinities, is he now going to pick up the different affinities he has come across, like life, space, void? 6. Maybe with the help of Deconstruct and various mana skills? 7. Also, is there skills like coersion or other mind control skills and counters to them, because Revyin is of the mind that the unknown dark mage used mind control on the Prince from the Tier 2 kingdom, should he not be thinking of acquiring a skill and information to protect and fight against a similar occurance in the future? 8. Lastly, is there no achievement for infiltrating so deep into enemy lines and Sabotaging their plans? Maybe a Sabotage skill?

Derek Walker

The princess gave him, in a sense, his mythic class lol. I wouldn’t call that holding him down. Plus I feel if she was here he could be learning more magic theory that he doesn’t know. Probably a net loss that she’s away from him.

Kyfe

Deconstruct contains lattice within it.

Private Writer

Hey Kyfe, I was wondering, Reivyn was really looking forward to leveling and converting his previous class skill Lattice work into a non-class skill and to a general skill. Is that still possible or is the new skill from his mythic class simply too superior and Lattice work not worth the effort, as he did utilise a lot of Sparks of light to increase profeciency

tater boss

w

Kyfe

The teleporter was built for her.

Enxes

Ahh, I was also wondering about Aeriella. She says it's her tier 6 array but it must be an artifact or something right? Otherwise she should be much stronger than his dad and he was able to survive two different spells from her. Unless the her tier is much lower than the array and she's able to use them

Mr. Finch

I get the chapters one Day late because of time zones I live in germany and so i get the chapter for wthirsday early friday

Steven

This is Wednesdays chapter, tuesdays came out really late. We should have one tomorrow

Mr. Finch

Thanks for the two chapters today, but i dread tomorrow with Zero chapters from you

Bilal Williams

Damn good chapter! And you know me I love that he has so much growth now that the princess isn't weighing him down. I don't know much about the new boss but I like her I like her a lot. Plus she lets us know that our hero isn't the only young badass. And the first thought is about training not about the love dovey stuff our boy is back!

Curtis

I was actually thinking he's surely due a lot of life experience for everything he's been doing since the failed assault! Although, I'm not sure if it will be much compared to what he gets from combat.

Kyfe

It'll count towards Life Experience. Life Experience grants actual Experience Points at monthly calculations in addition to the other benefits. Life Experience is a concept that improves Skill Leveling as well as unlocking Classes, which is one reason why it's discounted for Exp Points as compared to combat, but he'll get a healthy chunk next calculation (and just because I don't always include it in the text doesn't mean I'm not keeping up with it in my notes).

Freedcats

Hey Kyfe, are the acts like doing that thing to the teleported considered exp from non-combat? So he’d get it later? Assuming it counts for exp at all.

Warior1411

I wonder how much he levelled his Will of the Realm and Deconstruct skills, I imagine that Class skills of a Mythic (even if it's supposed to be Legendary) Class can become quite overpowered at high levels

Kyfe

He got Experience for the one he parried subconsciously, but it just wasn't shown. There were special circumstances for why he was forcefully added to a Party with his parents when he was a fetus. He didn't get contribution for any of the other fighting.

Derek Walker

If he did, it was not enough to level up, otherwise his mana pool would be higher. It's currently at what it should be for level 23.

Enxes

Awesome chapter. Did he not get any experience for helping with the dust devils and snake men because his whole squad was facing them at once putting it over the limit. Or did he just not check experience gains with the notifications?

Kyfe

Around the same age means something different for people who live hundreds to thousands of years. If someone is on track to reach Tier 6 or 7, they would be part of the "younger generation" for up to 100 years. Just FYI. For example, relative to the original Ascended Vynn, everyone 100,000 years or younger is basically a child to him.

deus vult

I hope Aeriella is not actually around mc's age. just that she misjudged how young he is. 'cause that would be cheating tbf.
