I've had an ongoing issue with Pasek and Paul shows overall for years now. They are amazing song writers, there's no argument about that. It's the book/story of all their shows, almost all of them the characters are rather unlikable people that they hide in these crafted songs. DEH, La La Land, Dogfight, and Greatest Showman all have unlikable, weakly written characters (I know, their PT Barnum is a super cleaned up dreamer but he's still a manipulative a**hat too - and the real Barnum was...well, go read about him. He was unpleasant). Even A Christmas Story's adaptation but I also find Ralphie unpleasant in the original film. It just makes me wonder how much stronger their music would be if it was attached to richer books with better characters.

in the sincerely me anamatic they do cut out some of the song, so evan closing the laptop forcefully doesn't happen. 'connor' in full says "I think of you each night, I rub my nipples and start moaning with delight" that's when Evan responds "why would you write that"
