The boneless slag certainly was an eye-grabber! Unfair for the fair Hyun?

Bill F Protagoras

And Hermione et Cadmus...

Wess

Reduced to a boneless slag. Ha! Love KT’s merciless vocabulary.

I've been contemplating this for a few days, and I'm wondering if this reference has more to do with what happens after the slaying than the slaying itself. After marrying Hermione, Cadmus had a boat load of bad luck. Nothing ever went right for him. This is attributed to a cursed necklace given to Hermione as a wedding gift. My take on this is that perhaps the genders of the original story don't matter here, and that Kimmy is Cadmus with Hyun being Hermione. This joining they have experienced is one of love, but portends bad things for both in the future. The interesting bit of that is that no matter how bad things got, Hermione never left Cadmus. While I feel like Kimmy doesn't deserve that sort of devotion from Hyun, I could see them sticking together if things explode with Josh. Ever since this started I felt like Hyun was Kimmy's fall back position if all her misdeeds finally came home to roost. We shall see. I hoping this is a loosely based comparison and that "Cadmus" gets what's coming to "him" without getting to keep Hermione.

I’ve really struggled with this series, your writing is awesome as always. It’s the character’s and how dark the story is.Hopefully KT will deal some retribution out.

From the wiki: Cadmus et Hermione is a tragédie en musique in a prologue and five acts by Jean-Baptiste Lully. It was first performed on 27 April 1673 by the Paris Opera at the Jeu de paume de Béquet. The prologue, in praise of King Louis XIV [hence the Louis XIV reference in earlier comments}, represents him as Apollo slaying the Python of Delphi. The opera itself concerns the love story of Cadmus, legendary founder and king of Thebes, Greece, and Hermione (Harmonia), daughter of Venus and Mars (Ares and Aphrodite in another interpretation). As KT notes above,, by slaying the Python of Delphi, Cadmus starts to grow scales himself. At the end Cadmus and Hermione escape the jealous Illyrians disguised as black serpents. Zeus sends them as serpents, to spend the rest of their days at the Elysian Fields. I guess we know who Hermione is, but which lucky guy is Cadmus and who is the Python of Delphi, or is he just a NPC in this drama?

What does the title of this chapter mean?

Andrew Mellein

Indeed, Kimmy needs Josh more than he needs her! From the last three or four chapters it seems like Josh is starting to question Kimmy and her mind games even though she occasionally does them. For instance when she got in his head about stroking off in his car. So imagine (probably won’t happen) if Devlin set Josh up with one of his gals for a fling. I think Kimmy would lose it and probably get crazy, try to keep things in line. And if that doesn’t work murderous!?

L_S87

That was the most notable moment, (with Genesis), but Charlie's possessive jealousy also showed up when Jonny was talking to the Israeli coder lady. Gave him the fifth degree and acted light a complete bitch, which isn't really her personality. I mostly think that happened because at that point she was feeling pretty damn insecure on where she stood with her having all these sexual adventures, and enjoying it while Josh was relegated to getting nothing and suffering through watching her have fun. I'm a bit surprised Reza never threw Genesis at him again in a one on one setting without Charlie there as it would have been ripe for Charlie to react very poorly. I had kind of hoped either she or the Israeli woman (can't remember her name) would have a more prominent role as it would have been interesting to see how Charlie reacted, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. That said, Kimmy is even more insecure about Josh. Not because he's ever hinted at or placed himself in a "Genesis" situation, but because her actions and subsequent guilt over them leaves her in a position of *knowing* she doesn't deserve his devotion, though she craves it like a woman dying of starvation. I would argue, as attached as Josh is, that Kimmy needs Josh more than he needs her. And that would lead her to doing some pretty awful things to keep him in line. The last few chapters, case in point.

KT Morrison

Or Cadmus and Harmonia; either way, wherein upon slaying the serpent, Cadmus's hubris thereafter grows serpent scales on his own skin. . . .

Kat

I don’t think that would happen here either. It’s not in the storyline. But, what about Karina? What if Josh somehow hooked up with her? Karina knows what Kimmy did at the party with Devlin. I just want Kimmy to get hers. She’s so evil!

Andrew Mellein

I thought of this because I was reminded of the Landlord series where Charlie became uncomfortable with Genesis pleasuring Johnny sexually. Now switch that to controlling, manipulative Kimmy and it’s possibly a more extreme situation entirely! I think at that point if this happened Kimmy would try to justify her affair with Devlin entirely and probably try to gaslight Josh ( using her warped logic) and say he cheated first. But she would be extremely angry because at that point she would have lost all control of Josh!

L_S87

That's an interesting question. Largely because Kimmy has contemplated a couple times "sharing" Josh with Hyun. Though we know that was only in the context of using said sharing as a way to sully Josh's character and leave him on equal footing with her from a morally deficient perspective. Her being with Devlin means nothing because Josh has been with Hyun. They cancel each other out. But, that's a controlled equation. Kimmy chooses the circumstances and the outcome. It goes exactly how she wants it to and it ends when she says it does. Hell, the control of that scenario would probably get her off. But, that's a specific situation, another means to and end similar to how these series of chapters started and ended. If Josh were to step out of that? Especially to create a punishing and humiliating scenario similar to what she has done with him? I think she'd go fucking ballistic. Because I think Kimmy feels like she owns Josh. He feels what Kimmy wants him to, he reacts the way she engineers him to, she controls the course of their marriage. Love for her means Josh is unthinkingly devoted to her, regardless of her prior actions and her love for him means she feeds his darkness and controls his desires. That's why she was so hacked off at him being in the parking lot, because he's not doing those things, he's going off script. I have contemplated what it would mean if Josh were to go to Rome again, Amy were to show up like I had mistakenly thought last time when it ended up being Kimmy and she seduces him as a ploy, while Devlin did the same to Kimmy while Josh was gone. I don’t think KT would do this, but i bet it would kill Kimmy inside if that happened and she would try to punish him severely for it. The hypocrisy wouldn't even occur to her. I dont think something like that would happen here, my opinion is the series isn't on that course, but it would be a great premise to include in another series.

Andrew Mellein

I wonder how Kimmy would feel to see Josh with another woman or if he cheated on her? Kimmy says she “loves Josh” but she keeps Josh as a prop to humiliate and gaslight to her hearts content. Josh is the only stable thing in her life and him with another woman I think would make Kimmy lose it mentally and emotionally! In Kimmys mind she owns Josh even after the bad things she has done. I think her endgame is to keep Josh as a cuckolded, naive, weakiling. What do you think about Josh and another woman and how it would affect Kimmy?

Andrew Mellein

KT’s writing is superb! There is no one like her in erotic fiction right now! I like how she writes these expansive novels where you come to love or hate the characters. Any erotic fiction author would be one and done. But KT builds up the world and lets you get to know these characters and their motivations. Once you know the characters then comes the steamy scenes which KT writes beautifully! Most of the stories are like witnessing a car accidents in good ways 🤣🤣 Which I love bravo 👏 KT

Kat

It was painful to read. I felt sorry for both Hyun and especially for Josh. Kimmy doesn’t deserve either of them. KT’s writing, though, is amazing.

L_S87

No, no. What you wrote in your post is spot on and expressed very well. Thst said, it shows how good KT is that she can basically short our brains out because we're practically frothing at the mouth due to Kimmy's depravity. The fact that she can do these things to Josh while enjoying what amounts to a sexual epiphany is almost painful to read. The dichotomy between the love and caring she shows for Hyun, who is clearly vulnerable here, vs Josh, who has also shown himself to be equally, if not more vulnerable is jarring. Kimmy thinks Josh would feel anguish knowing the intimacy she shared with Hyun. No, Kimmy. Anguish isn't even close to what he would feel if he found out the level of love and support you've shown a "friend" in one night of passion vs. the last two months of torment for him. Kimmy's version of love is twisted and evil.

Wess

Yeah right. Kimmy professes her love for Josh. I do not think that word means what she thinks it means

Mike Monroe

Kimmy is the most vile .. disgusting character ever created by KT...there is no redeeming value to her. I am reminded of a another TV character just as vile ..when I was growing up ..JR Ewing...We need a who shot JR situation here...Kimmy needs to be brought down...she needs to be stopped!!! Such great writing KT!! All the emotions and angst I thought I hated .Maggie ..disliked Jess ..I absolutely HATE Kimmy Chang Waters! I hope she has a great fall on many sides! She is detestable..Period!!!

Kat

Everything you wrote I agree with 100%, you’re just way better at expressing yourself than I am! I get so mad at Kimmy that I lose the ability to form a cohesive thought. Lol

Kat

It’s nice to see Kimmy seem to genuinely care about someone other than herself. She says she cares so much for Hyun and Sophie, going so far as to say that she would protect them. But, in the same breath, she’s revelling in the fact that she’s purposely going to be late getting home to Josh. She knows that he probably hasn’t slept, because it’s driving him crazy with torment. She already gaslighted and tormented him earlier in the evening. She’s so freaking cruel to him, while being so caring and soft with Hyun. Telling Hyun that what they did is for them, and it stays between them. I wish Hyun would figure this out, and not get sucked in. Kimmy is going to hurt you, Hyun. You’re going to get hurt very badly. How can she put her heart and trust in the hands of someone who is married to the uncle of her daughter? This person has also told her that she’s cheated numerous times with a man that bullied her husband. She drives around with a dildo replica of his penis, ready for play in her trunk. She’s also pregnant…and it’s probably from her affair. Wake up Hyun. While Kimmy expresses how much she enjoyed being with Hyun and how much she cares about her, a lot of what she did with her was an act, an act for Hyun, so that Kimmy could get what she wants in the end. As much as she says she’ll protect her, Kimmy will ultimately hurt Hyun, too, because Hyun isn’t her endgame. At this point, I have no clue what her endgame is. It used to be staying with Josh, having sex with Devlin, and getting Josh to watch Devlin fuck her. But now she’s pregnant. Her husband can’t seem to function as his own person anymore. She’s destroyed him. Devlin is definitely not finished with her. Kimmy can’t seem to stop thinking with her crotch, and now she’s corrupted a completely innocent party who has no business being involved in Kimmy’s perversions. I can’t wait to find out what happens at home. Is Josh still outside? Did he get lured somewhere else with the panties by Devlin? KT don’t leave us hanging! I need more!

L_S87

100% This. She makes you hang on every word. The way she phrases things, the emotions from Kimmy that in turn evoke emotions in we, the readers. It's rather sublime. Well, KT's ability to write is. The subject matter is anything but. Kimmy is detestable. I feel sorry for KT. I love this series and yet I hate it, and I can't imagine how hard it must be to try to put yourself in Kimmy's shoes so you can write this in such a believable way. Thank you, KT.

Donkatsu

Louis XIV, really!

Donkatsu

Agree, no way, after all the buildup, that Devlin is a man of the past.

Donkatsu

KT, for all of your fan club members who wish to write in this space, you have proven quite conclusively, that they do not stand a chance. This is, without doubt, some of the finest erotic writing I have ever seen. It is not possible to isolate individual phrases or passages, as i did previously. The entire thing is a gem, only some parts are even better than that. Don't want to sound fawning, but I am in awe.

Andrew Mellein

I'm eagerly awaiting the Josh and Devlin conversation! I wonder if Josh is going to be at the apartment when Kimmy gets (like Kimmy wanted) home? I kind of doubt it. I think he wants to put his supposed plan to work and went to meet Devlin. I kinda of think Josh dosn't trust Kimmy at this point. Even though she plays great sexual mind games with him. But we will see!

L_S87

Kimmy makes my blood boil sometimes. All the caring and protective feelings she espouses for Hyun, the insistence she will keep this secret, and it not being a lie, where the HELL is this sort of moral fortitude for Josh??? She started this as a means to an end, just like she confesses internally, and somewhere from the start to the end she's now decided that she will treat Hyun better than Josh. Kimmy will keep this secret because she cares about Hyun and wants to protect her, yet spill all of Josh's to Hyun, not giving a damn about his secrets, completely forgetting about her vow to protect him. She consciously sets the alarm late to torment him, yet takes a shower and has breakfast just to appease Hyun and assuage her fears, even going so far as to kiss her and make promises when Hyun says not to hurt her. Where was this Kimmy while she did all these awful things with Devlin and drove Josh to a sobbing mess? That Kimmy made a bunch of empty promises that she didn't fulfill and yet somehow still insists she "loves" Josh. I'm almost 100% convinced that Kimmy will use Hyun and her love as a golden parachute of emotional support if things go sour with Josh. She even said it herself that this was the tip of the iceberg of her exploration and potential growth with Hyun. And she SO does not deserve it. This woman is wretched. KT, I'm now on the same page as Kat. If this woman doesn't get her comeuppance, I'm going to be pretty damn aggravated. On the other side of things, we have no idea how that conversation with Devlin ended up for Josh, or how he reacted to Devlin's lie. Did they converse more, or did that response trigger something awful in Josh? We really have no idea what's waiting for Kimmy when she gets home. We know what she expects, which is why the heinous bitch set her alarm 15 minutes after she said she'd be home. She expects Josh to be quivering in anticipation, waiting for her to "take care of him". Will be interesting to see if that's what happens or if it will be something more along the lines of the panty scene.
