I'm pretty sure i remember Byron noting that the condoms he found on the floor were unused? Not sure how that plays into Chey's "big reveal", but it does lend credence to Chey being so high on dopamine that any number of things could have occurred that she wouldn't remember accurately, or convince herself didn't happen because the reality would be difficult to accept once said high wore off.

Agree with your assessment on Chey, James. I get the feeling her thought process is, "I'm probably only going to get one shot at this, so i am throwing caution to the wind and am going to milk it for everything it's worth, in every way possible." Which leads to a consequences be damned scenario that's amazing in the moment, but creates repercussions that must be worked through afterwards. And we get a front row seat to all of it. I also enjoy it when her characters embrace their badness, in the moment. Where my disappointment comes (not in KT's writing, but the characters themselves) is when they go full Kimmy and their embracement becomes all encompassing, and scratching that itch is more important than anything, even if the consequences to those you "love" are devastating, once the badness is revealed.

(Not implying others were bad, just like the change of pace) And you slipped that Scarlett comment in there to help restore some faith in her, didn't you? Like she'd have read Chey the riot act if she'd cheated, which is probably fueling some of Cheys trepidation on saying everything. Just what did Chey do, and how bad is it? What happens when/if Byron finds out? The waiting stinks, but the pay off when you drop the next chapter is SO worth it!
