If your point is that the characters are not admirable but are realistically drawn then I agree. I personally like the way the characters are developed. I think it’s great to have characters we care about doing foolish and self destructive things just like real people. I still think Josh is the hardest character to write. He’s too smart and too insecure not to realize the danger and he’s coming off as a little too gullible at the moment. Kimmy’s character is perfect. Though Kimmy is a bitch, her love for Josh comes through clearly. Josh thinks he’s using Kimmy while she uses him. Kimmy thinks she’s manipulating Devlin while he manipulates her. Devlin is still the mystery character here. At some point, the idea of Devlin as tool of Kimmy will disintegrate and he will reassert himself and that will work a real transformation. Of course it’s a house of cards that will eventually collapse. Meanwhile I’m enjoying a story that is unique in many respects.

They're really all fools. These three man characters are absolutely not worth the floating shit that takes more than one flush to have them go down the drain. (And that's a tribute to KT that such feelings come to the fore.) Devlin's an man-child. Kimmy is simply a bitch. Josh is just gullible. Kimmy has him so wound, he'd be easy to convince that the world was flat. So, who gets hurt here? Does it matter?
