The two of them being cute, making jokes, trying to rip on each other, looking for leverage at the other one’s expense. In close quarters. In Devlin’s luxury Mercedes. At the Royal York. . . . Was Devlin always working on Kimmy? Was Devlin always trying to get in Kimmy’s pants? . . .
Josh said, “I guess I’ll lead the way,” and walked around them, feeling bolder the more this went on. Feeling like they could actually do this crazy thing together. If Kimmy ever had some crazy kink, he would love to do for her what she was doing for him right now.
With them behind, he turned left to the path that would take them to the center of the estate’s compound where there was a forty-foot pool with waterslide and landscaped waterfall.
Kimmy said, “Josh, let’s go down to the ocean.”

Meanwhile, everything inside him was twisted and rolling in tightening knots. It was turning to see them together again that renewed the tight internal angst. “Makes sense,” he said.
Kimmy and Devlin went ahead, and began to descend the trail in front of him as he trailed behind. Kimmy turned to wait for him, smiling. As they got closer, she whispered, “How’s it going?”

Now Josh smiled, showing none of this bothered him. Mel was that guy Kimmy had replaced. He chuckled, said, “Pretty bold.”
“How’s that, Josh?”

“Nothing like that at all.”
Devlin looked to Kimmy, then back at him again. “You want to see bold, Josh?”

Josh laughed like Devlin was bluffing—but it took only a second and a half before he realized there was no way Devlin was bluffing. He was really going to do this. He shivered and his skin crawled. The hair rose on the nape of his neck and on the crown of his head. His heart beat a sudden doom-like drum beat. This couldn’t be happening.
But then Devlin turned his back to them, shoved his thumbs under the waistband of his trunks at his hips, and Josh’s natural inclination was to look away. But he was frozen. Wanting to see if Kimmy would look. Wanting to shout out to her that she shouldn’t. Wanting to lurch to her—but the lounger was between them—and spin her around. I am not sure what would happen next but if I'm to guess by my analysis of KT's writing style and male characters then my guess is Josh will let Kimmy do as she pleases. She'll ask Josh if everything's ok and he'll say yes. He's in turmoil but wants to see his Kimmy and Devlin together. Him manning up is by allowing Kimmy to do with Devlin what she wants because he doesn't want to give the impression that he's insecure and a party pooper. Kimmy very well could have put him up to it. In the last part KT did mention if some sort of plan between Kimmy an Devlin (although vaguely). I agree Devlin is impulsive, but he does have more self control than you give him credit for. He could have fucked Kimmy well before she started working for him for instance, but he thought the long play was better. No doubt he is thinking about how to get in Kimmy’s pants again, but there could be strategy as well. For instance if Devlin’s motives are to end Kimmy and Josh’s relationship then the tension caused by removing his shorts is just the type of tension he’d want to cause (i.e, Josh looks insecure and weak)

Devlin is an interesting character.. So far it seems like Kimmy is playing chess while Josh is playing checkers, but I’m not sure what Devlin is playing. Like taking off his shorts could be a “chess” move in that Devlin sees some hidden strategy in doing so. Or it could also be a checkers move where there is no strategy really it’s just the logical next move in fucking with Josh and also subtlety flirting with Kimmy. He’s either really good or really lucky and I’m not sure which is which.

while the polls are fun, I’m glad to get back to the story and see where KT takes us. It’s not a matter of if KT is going to turn up the humiliation, but by how much, and I’m here for it. From the start I’ve enjoyed the fact that this story, one of a cheating wife, is a big departure from what KT normally does, sure six weeks has a cheating wife too, but that one is low stakes,older housewife banging a young dude empty calories story, compared to this angst driven thrill ride. I’ve also enjoyed how Kimmy is a huge departure from the typical dependent mousey housewife/low level employee that KT usually casts as the leading lady. I’m hopeful that this originality continues through the rest of the book and the remainder of the story. Thanks again for all the content KT I appreciate it.

Our questions exactly. Devlin really stepped it up. Under most circumstances, such a display would have been laughable. In this context, well...it's still a bit funny that a grown man has to prove himself by stripping bare, and then diving in the water. Then again, Josh pretty much asked for it.
