Overlay: Basically, all the skin details and drawings are added to the sim's skin. It is added on top of the skin color you choose, so it doesn't cover or mask the skin. Details are added to it. It is considered more maxis match. Skin: A skin drawing that fully covers the sim's skin. It has its own color options, so whatever color you choose from the normal skin color options does not show up. It looks a bit more detailed and is generally considered alpha. Mask: Masks have two different options, body masks and face masks. This way, you can use other face masks with other body masks and mix and match!! Generally, they are skins, but sometimes they can be overlays, too!! hope this helps:)
