I just got their message. Went to the profile and got to here, found your new account on Twitter. When I didn't play along with them in the DMs, they blocked me LOL

Really glad you managed to avoid it and caught it in time. Please don’t trouble yourself for now as a couple of artists and I are still currently trying to reach x support to hopefully resolve the issue. Just stay safe out there and spread the word to alert others to be careful. And thanks for the support as well!

oh wow, I just stumbled upon this post here. Perfect, because today I also got this message. I was immediately suspicious and quick google confirmed my suspicion. End goal is basically asking for payment in order for you to regain access to your own account. Good thing it hasn't worked on me or anyone that I know as of yet, but still, careless on my part for falling for the first part. Anyway thanks for the support haha. Stay safe out there:)

Got your emails about the X hack and was aware. I don't know what his end goal is. Played dumb with him, and kept asking for more info about my "account report" until he gave up. I'm kinda sad, tbh. Would really wanted to see what he wants. Maybe I'll insist 😂. Anyway, off topic... Never found a proper chance to send a direct message to you regarding your work so... here goes. As long as you already know it's not legit and you don't give them any info, you're all good. So sorry you had to encounter this but glad you caught on early.

They are still trying the same thing... Just got a message this morning about reporting my profile and that I'm on an imminent IP ban if I don't reach out. I'm risking it, but I'll play along. I want to see where it's all going and what this guy wants...

Really glad I could help. Your support is enough. No need to trouble yourself just happy your account is safe. You can spread the word to other artists to inform them to be alert:)

Yes, they just wrote to me from your account saying to me that someone with my profile tried to scam you and that you reported me in mass with your followers... was it you? They are threatening me with X hitting me with a perma-ban on my main account (https://x.com/CptPopcorn)
