Ding! Dong!
“Ah -- the front door,” Lola identified. Her drink was already empty as she set it down and--“Ha! What am I thinking?” Her eyes swept and stopped on him. His jaw froze in mid-bite. “There’s my helper. Go see who it is.”
His protest was preempted by a swift glance from his daughter. He swallowed his food and his pride, and started walking.
“Is he this obedient at home?” Lola inquired conversationally. Jesus Christ! He hastened indoors before he could catch Jen’s response.
The big oak front door was even heavier than the one to the patio. He got it open -- and his other worries vanished, immediately supplanted, at sight of the figure looming before him. As if the gods themselves had chiseled this being out of solid marble then breathed life into her throbbing veins. So enormous, so packed with criss-crossed muscle, that his brain almost refused to believe this thing was alive.
Until it moved.
Trunk-like legs bent and quads fired, as the sky-high face descended. Even then, it towered. She towered.
“You,” the colossus said, her hazel eyes narrowing. Examining. “Ah. It is you, isn’t it?” her deep voice rumbled, as if emanating from her chest. “Yes. Those same skittering eyes.”
That voice. Where had he …?
She straightened with eerie speed for her size and beckoned one muscle-packed arm behind her. “Nora, come look what I found.”
Oh dear fuck, there were two of them. The second had darker skin but towered just as high, as she leaned companionably over the first giant’s shoulder and gazed down with instant delight. “Hey! Well, if it isn’t our little mousey! He might be even cuter in swim trunks, don’t you think?”
“Prrfff. Swim trunks; spandex; it’s all the same.”
Who the—What the—“D-Do I know you!?” he said. In very much a squeak
Both giants looked at him, then at each other -- and laughed boomily.
“Wanna do the honors, Skylar?” asked Nora with an easy pat.
“Eh, why not.”
He didn’t even see it coming. Skylar’s arm moved so fast, swooping down and undercutting the back of his knees and—WHAT THE--!?!
“Yaaghh!” He was upside-down. Immediately. Boom. His lower legs were trapped in something solid – the crook of her arm. The rest of his body dangled below. His head bounced off a thigh which felt like a literal slab of marble as his body swung with her long, sweeping strides. He … The … What the actual fuck!?!
“Straight, maybe? Past the kitchen?”
“I guess so. This place is huge, dang! Hold up.” Skylar’s machine-like legs halted as Nora’s face appeared upside down. Or rightside up, depending on your view. “Which way to the pool, lil’ guy?”
“The… The …” One did not disobey creatures this size. “Through the living room. … G-Grand piano.”
“Thanks!” Nora’s hand went to the skin underneath his arm and—YOWWWW! Fuck, that hurt! She administered it like just a light playful pinch … and for her, maybe it was. But it felt like she’d permanently stamped her fingerprints into his skin.
WHO THE FUCK ARE THESE WOMEN!?! They … They …!
The sliding door whooshed open next to his head, and a raucous laugh rose.
“Heee!” yipped a slightly inebriated Brandi. “Look what the cat dragged in!”
“Ughh,” joked Nora, somewhere above him, “Cat jokes, Brandi? Really? We get that enough at work as it is.”
“Looks to me like you’re still on the job,” Lola countered, smiling meaningfully down at him.
Wait …
