That's a big question - how complex should this be? My sense is that it definitely could, and it would come down to how much flexibility players are looking for as they level up, as opposed to when they pick from among a selection of classes.

Could this system be modulized to be able to add more on to the characters? I like your base ideas but I have seen oversimplification kill many systems.
