🕑 Added 2024-01-22 18:00:08 +0000 UTCLet's design a psionics system! At the paid tier for the next few weeks, you'll get an early look into concepts for a psionics system that I am designing for a science fiction TTRPG that will be a companion project to the fantasy game I am working on.
At this point, the system uses points similar to the 3e psionic system. I like the idea of psionics running off an internal reservoir of energy that a character can control.
I also love the idea of leaning into the idea of the third, psionic eye. A psychic character can see ripples of thought, wisps of memory, and traces of emotion in the world around them. I want psionic characters to literally see the world a bit differently.
I'm not exactly sure how that will work. I'll tackle the points system first, then we'll see how we can apply it to psionic abilities. After that, we'll figure out how to add the concept of peering into the psychic landscape.

Perhaps. Depends on how things work out. I'm juggling a bunch of things, but I'm opting to make TTRPG design part of whatever future I build.

5e! And the "new" game I'm working on will basically be a set of alternate rules for 5e. Classes and monsters will work with the core game.
