I upgraded to this device in anticipation of the 2G plans. https://www.nicgiga.com/collections/2-5g-switch/products/24-port-2-5g-%E2%9E%95-2-port-10g-sfp-ethernet-switch-nicgiga-26-port-2-5gb-network-switch-unmanaged-plug-play-desktop-or-19-inch-rack-mount-fanless-metal-design - it handles rate adaptation between 10G, 1G and 2.5G clients fairly well. If you're on NBN, you'll need a new NTD as the current ones are only 1G.

my snarky thought to the title is "they did, the 8GB cards made after 2022." Yet TBH that segment isn't looking for more-FPS and other factors make modern GPUs a bit of a hard pass (low profile slots, no-fan/no-pump silent builds, or watt-limited environments). Because there are other better options, I guess the current generation of 8GB cards are mostly e-waste bound with no good use.
