Average frames are easier to manage compared to 1%, because 1% and 0.1% can depend on a huge amount of factors, such as RAM timings and etc.
You talk mostly about average frame rates in your reviews. How important are they compared to 1% lows (and vice versa)?

I am upgrading to a near or top tier GPU this spring and I'm replacing two 1080p monitors with an ultrawide. Should I care about refresh rates if I'm not a competitive gamer. I'm looking at a Samsung G5 LC34G55TWWNXZA with a 160 refresh @ 1440p
