Updates to our Patreon
🕑 Added 2020-08-03 03:01:00 +0000 UTCToday we are making some minor changes to our Patreon tiers, to simplify our offerings and make it easier for us to support everyone who is joining up to our growing Patreon page.
1. All Live Streams and BTS Videos now tagged
One of the biggest issues with Patreon is discoverability, especially for older content. So we've gone back and tagged all of our Patreon posts for 2018 to now (which is basically all the good stuff) to categorize them into BTS and Live Stream playlists.
You can access these sections right from the top of our Patreon page. If you've missed anything or are new to our Patreon page, those sections are a great way to find the content among all of our Patreon updates.
You'll also notice a new pinned post for our ICC profiles. About half of all messages we receive are people asking where to find these profiles. Hopefully with the new pinned message this will be very easy.
2. Gold supporters can now view all BTS videos easily
A bug that's been present for a while is that Gold tier supporters have been unable to access older BTS videos. That's now fixed, every BTS video post is now accessible to all of those supporters.
There are some incidental posts that may still be inaccessible but all the actual good content here should now be unlocked.
3. Discontinuing the $1 tier
Patreon has advised us that we should simplify our tier offerings. Up until today, we had six tiers, of which four had different benefits. Today that is being simplified with the discontinuation of our $1 tier.
However, there is no change for anyone who is currently supporting us at the $1 tier. You will still be able to support us at $1 for as long as you like. You do not have to update your pledge to continue supporting the channel. The tier is simply being "unpublished" from the main page.
There is also no change to live stream accessibility. While the $1 tier will be discontinued from the tier selection page, live streams will still be accessible to all Patreons at any support tier. This includes those who support us with custom amounts like $1 or $0.69. If you wish to drop down your support level, you will still be able to choose any amount and have access to live streams, same as before.
4. Source quality video downloads
Not many people made use of our source quality downloads for some videos, and we haven't published a source quality video for nearly a year now. Due to this, we aren't advertising this as a feature of our Patreon page any more. We may still offer these videos where it makes sense to do so, but felt we shouldn't list this as a feature if we don't do it very often.
Given the size of our Patreon these days we are hoping these updates will make it easier for us to continue delivering great content for everyone who financially contributes to the channel.
