TRX40 VRM Testing

I'm looking at testing some new TRX40 boards for VRM thermal performance with the 3990X.
Do you think testing with the 3990X at 3.8 GHz with 1.3v in a case with air-flow is a stupid/unrealistic test? (not sure how many people will buy and then OC the 3990X)
The system pulls 850 watts from the wall. The previous 3970X testing was based on a 600 watt power draw and they all did it pretty easy.

2M late, and I agree with so many apparently. It's T-Rex-40, it costs how much, it better perform for that price. and "for science" and aging of components as others mentioned. B)
Threadrippers can be overclocked, so the boards should be tested for overclocking potential. Even if you don't OC, knowing that the VRMs etc. have the headroom to support it is good to know (e.g. component aging.) By OC, I don't mean "will boot and scrape through one pass of [benchmark]" - that's pointless (especially under LN2.) I mean "will run max. threads of Prime95/OCCT Linpack for 24+ hours without error."
