Do You Want A Big Lady Emporium Discord?
🕑 Added 2025-08-09 14:00:10 +0000 UTCAs the year passes on I am realizing how fostering a community for the Big Lady Emporium could be beneficial so I am once again at the crossroads of should I make a Discord or just not worry about it?
In my eyes a Discord opens up a lot of problems, one big concern is that I don't have much time to moderate one and I've seen a lot of controversies come from Discords. There's also the greatest risk of certain people joining who shouldn't be and that's my biggest concern. On the other side, it gives me a place to more easily discuss and share what's going on, I can have a more personal connection with you all and it even gives everybody a place to share their ideas, art, etc.
So because I don't normally post on the weekends I figured I'd give you all the chance to state your case on the thought of Discord, but I would like you to give actual reasons for why you think it would be beneficial to the Emporium. Please keep in mind I am not asking if you want a Discord, I'm just curious how it could benefit the Emporium and figuring out for myself if those benefits outweigh the negatives. Feel free to share whatever thoughts you might have, this is an open table discussion so if there's something on your mind feel free to say it!

edit: Where I currently sit is I have no desire to make a Discord and the only reason I would is because it becomes something that increases the appeal of the Emporium. So personally I don't see the appeal of paying anything to join that and I don't think it's something the majority of visitors here are looking for, if anything the idea actually doesn't work unless everybody (minus the obvious) could join.
At the end of the day I think a Discord server would be an arrogant thing FOR MYSELF to do. It's me wanting a place to talk about non-Emporium related things and 98% of members aren't here for non-Emporium stuff. And I don't really blame them. (I do love all my social butterflies up in the chat tho <3)
I do appreciate the responses so far and I do encourage anybody seeing this post to suggest reasons why as well. But complete honesty I think Patreon does currently provide enough tools to foster as much of a community that's meant for me right here at home.

I wouldn’t join- dc communities are kinda icky from my personal experience (especially w kink related stuff)

Hi, I agree with you as in it is ann isn't beneficial to have a discord server, I say don't because like you said you already have so much to do with the animations for this patreon, and you don't need the stress worrying about the discord server, also like you said you don't know if other people will join who aren't patreon members, so I say don't make one, you don't need the extra stress.

Hello, I'm a new subcriber so I don't know much of how this community is. However, discord has it's positives with it being a good place for news and a way for everyone to get to know each other better than Patreon messenger. The negative though is the drama and it's a given with every community. As Azure said, you can give the discord link to Patreon subcribers and find members you can trust to help moderate.

I dont see how it could harm the emporium in any real way. Because if you keep the access to paid members only, then itt would only be people who actually want to see the content you make.

Honestly I would like a discord. As for moderators, you'd just have to pick members of the community you trust, implying there are members of your community that you trust with that level of responsibility. Besides a discord would be a cool place for us to all hang out, get to know eachother and maybe even play some games or something.
