ino's Journey Episode 8 Part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~That was uplifting as hell! I’m so happy that turned out well. It could so easily have been a depressing ending, but it wasn’t, and so it’s my favorite episode of the show so far. What an excellent story. That’s going to stick with me for a while. That’s all the liveblogging we’re going to have today, but you can tune in tomorrow at the same time for the start of the final liveblog of Fooly Cooly, or you can tune in to my Twitch channel at 2:30 PM EST today f...
Fooly Cooly Episode 6 Part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Why is she back? Does she care about Naota after all, in her own insane way? Did Atomsk reject her? Does she still need something from Medical Mechanica? I have so many questions, and there are only 18 more minutes of show to get answers in.I wonder if there’s going to be a final battle at all, or if the show’s going to end with Life Just Going On. It’ll be an interesting ending either way, I thinkThat’s it for blogging for today, but tune in tomorrow at noon EST for the start of the second hal...
The Owl House Episode 7 Part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sympathetic Amity? Amity/Luz friendship? A fanbase that definitely went nuts with shipping because of this episode? This one has it all! I really liked that. I already thought Amity was a good character, and having this additional nuance added to her was very welcome. And the things it reveals about her character are such good details! My favorite is the implication that she dyes her hair to fit in with the rest of her family.I wonder how the twins will come into play ...
The Owl House Episode 7 Part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I can’t shake the feeling that the twins are up to something beyond the wonder and fun that they’ve shown so far, but I’m perfectly open to being wrong. This has been a pretty cute episode so far! I like it.As for Eda and King, well, this is what they get for trying to cut Luz out of the deal. Still, the reward come morning better be worth it--though something tells me it won’t be.I’m sorry, but once again, that’s where I’m ending it for tonight--but I’ve been talking to my therapist, a...
Kino's Journey Episode 8 Part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I like Nimya. I like adventurous, clever, creative people who try to create something new. This promises to be a very enjoyable episode, at least if the show doesn’t pull the rug out from under her (and me) at the end.I wonder how much of the episode is going to be from Nimya’s perspective. It would be interesting to have a Kino-light episode following this character; Kino’s great, but I really like Nimya.Okay, well, that’s all for Kino’s Journey for tonight! A bit of life news: after MONTHS ...

Kino's Journey Episode 7 Part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~All the pieces were there for a satisfying story, but something about these past couple episodes doesn’t quite do it for me. It all feels kind of disjointed, like things just sort of happened in an order rather than being all tied together. I’m also a little unsettled by Kino’s new law; if it’s followed, Kino will be responsible for a LOT of death, fairly directly. It’s a good bit of moral grayness for the character, though--I think it’s good unsettling, if...
FLCL episode 5 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HOW DID I COMPLETELY MISS THAT THIS SHOW WAS A METAPHOR FOR PUBERTY UNTIL ALMOST THE END OF THE SERIESCOME ON, LOREThat’s kind of embarrassing, honestly. At least I figured it out eventually. So, looking back--the robots coming out of Naota’s head, are these unwanted sexual feelings he’s having a hard time with? And Haruko...it’s hard to tell what Haruko is supposed to be. Is she just straightforwardly an Experienced Older Woman taking advantage of him? Is she a metaphor for something more indir...
The Owl House episode 6 part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Well! Now Amity’s got something to ask Willow about, doesn’t she. She’d already seen Willow’s power before--back when she unleashed green hell all over the school--but she may not have properly processed that, and she DEFINITELY wasn’t expecting a mere human to be able to take part in a magic ritual like that, even if she was able to draw little fiddly spells on paper. I wonder what’s going to come of that; it’s got to be burning her up inside, and I REAL...
Kino's Journey episode 7 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What an asshole! I can’t wait for the king to get his ass got. I’ll bet he tries to kill Kino when they win. Such a shame about the flower girl--her reason for competing was pretty selfish (willing to kill people to get a holiday tradition going? please.) but that was just poor sportsmanship.I wonder what Kino is specifically going to encode into law. That’ll be interesting to find out.Anyways, that’s it for tonight! I just don’t have any more in me, sorry guys. I should be okay moneywise for...

Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~WELL THAT WAS AS SUBTLE AS A TON OF BRICKSWHAT HAPPENED WITH NAOTA’S DAD? WHY WAS THERE A ROBOT DUPLICATE OF HIM? THAT WAS WHY THERE WAS A PLUG COMING OUT OF HIS BUTT AS HE MASSAGED HARUKO? WHAT THE FUCKAnd Haruko was the one who called down the bomb just so she could set up a life lesson for Naota? I wasn’t expecting her to be THAT much of a terrible person. I thought she was going to wind up being weird but vaguely heroic, but instead she’s willing to gamble th...
Kino's Journey episode 6 part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Well, well! A two-parter! I suppose I should have realized it was going to be a multi-part story earlier, but in my defense I was under the impression that every episode was self-contained. An interesting one, too--what exactly is Kino’s goal? Because it’s definitely not just to live among the elites. Are they going to use their prize to abolish the tournament, or help the slumfolk, or just kill the king? Killing the king doesn’t seem how Kino would do it, so it...

Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I really like the dynamic these two have. In turns honest and sarcastic, they really seem to get each other, even as they falter and bounce off each other here and there. I really want to see where this goes. That’s it for Bunny Girl Senpai for tonight. Up next is going to be the start of Owl House episode 6! Stay tuned for that in a few minutes!Thank you all for tuning in, and thank you to my 53 patrons, who make it so I can do this for a living! I’ll see you in a few minutes!
Fooly Cooly episode 4 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Why are all the adults and near-adults in Naota’s life so god damn weird. That poor kid. Leave him alone, people! That means you too, Mamimi! You’ve got like five years on him! Leave him alone! But now a Shady Organization has zeroed in on Naota, and his life is about to get a whole lot more complicated than it already is. Poor kid. What even is Haruko’s deal? It’s a great mystery, but damn does she frustrate me.Anyways, that’s it for Fooly Cooly for tonight! Up next is going to be the start o...
Kino's Journey, episode 6 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What an interesting question. Do you kill a few people to save many more? From a utilitarian perspective, absolutely. The moral weight of that, though...I suppose it makes it better that they’re all planning to kill you too, but still...I’m glad I won’t ever be put in a situation where I’d have to answer that question. I don’t know whether I’d be willing to do that or not. That’ll be it for tonight! Up next is going to be the start of Fooly Cooly episode 4, which we’ll do tomorrow! In th...
Bunny Girl Senpai episode 1 part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~“I’m counting on you.” A letter from himself...he’s forgotten all about Mai in the present. Either her powers overwhelmed even his ability to see her or she did something deliberately to make him forget. And the letter makes remembering her sound VERY urgent--whether it’s a close friendship or he fell in love with her I’m not sure, but it sounds kind of desperate. What an intriguing beginning to this show. I’m definitely interested in seeing what happens n...

Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wow! I guess Naota’s friends are clued in to what’s going on now. I wonder how much of a part they’ll play in the story--Nina, at least, seems like an important character, and her dynamic with Naota is pretty interesting. She seems jealous of Haruko, and, you know what, I’m happy Naota has a potential love interest his own fucking age for there to be a story with. The ears transferred on a delay, it seems. The connection happened a full day before the swap--in f...
Kino's Journey episode 5 part 2.
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What the hell! I hate that on principle. The villain of the piece was democracy? And an overly simplistic view of democracy at that. I didn’t like that at all. Well...I liked the first three-fifths, with the increasingly messed-up story of the railworkers, but I think the episode kind of fell apart after that. There were so many better disturbing places it could have gone than that! That makes me mad. That’s Kino’s Journey for tonight. Up next is going to be the s...
The Owl House episode 5 part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I liked that one. The fight was AWESOME, seeing Eda interact with her sister was fun, getting more backstory was great, and the moment of camaraderie between Luz and Amity was excellent as well. I really like Amity as a character--she’s deeply principled and a hard worker, and I hope Luz is able to crack her thorny shell a bit and get at the delicious friendship meat inside. That’s it for The Owl House for tonight! Up next is going to be the second half of episode 5...
The Owl House episode 5 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Well! This is...oof. I got SO much secondhand embarrassment from Luz challenging Amity to a duel. That was a rough patch that lasted MUCH longer for me because of the way I watch these episodes.Oh, man. All Luz can do is cast light spells, and not very quickly at that. How is she going to overcome Amity? I guess she could firebomb her with a giant one like she did with Eda, but how would she go about setting that up?I wonder if there are any rules about decking your opponent in the schnoz. That’s goin...
Owl House episode 4 part 2!
Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Well, well! Isn’t that interesting. Eda’s got a hidden monster side. That’s going to become very important at some point in the future, but I wonder whether it’ll be because she misses her elixir dose or because she turns it on against an enemy they’re facing. Either way, it’s going to be very exciting. And Luz has learned MAGIC! It seems a bit too cumbersome to be used on the fly as-is, but......Actually, wait, no. If Luz draws almost the entire rune, store...

Click here for the full episode.Click here for just this half.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Well! That was fun. I like the happy ending for Willow, and I LOVED Eda’s moments cheering Luz on, but the King/Eda B plot felt like filler and we weirdly didn’t get enough time with the students for me to connect with them the way the show wants me to. Hopefully they remedy that in the future. That’s not all for tonight, though! In a few minutes I’m going to start episode 4, and we’ll get the first half of that done tonight. In the meantime, thank you all for...
The Owl House, episode 3 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This should be interesting. I can’t imagine Luz gets accepted into the school, of course, so this is likely a short visit, but the three witch kids seem like they’ll be important recurring characters, so they’re going to have adventures outside the school with her. I wonder if Amity will remain an antagonist or not.I’m going to take a break for a few minutes and then dive right in to the second half of the episode. See you in a few!
Bunny Girl Senpai episode 1 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I honestly don’t have a lot to say yet. We’re still getting introduced to these characters, and we’ve only just started to find out what the supernatural stuff is about. I wonder what’s causing it, and if she knows how to control it. Presumably she does, since she went out in public in a playboy bunny outfit, but still. Weird. That’s it for Bunny Girl Senpai for right now, and thus that’s it for the March Patron Picks. Fooly Cooly episode 3 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Interesting. I think Ninamori has caught whatever-it-is from Naota. To be honest, it would be good for him to have someone his own age in on the secret so he’s not stuck with these weird older people constantly being weird to him without respite. She also seems sane like him, unlike literally everyone else in his life.I wonder what’s going to come out of his head. Cat robot? Are they going to have to fight a cat robot? Where’s Nina going to come in with all this? Is she going to get her own pet r...
Kino's Journey episode 5 part 1!
Click here for the liveblog.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Jeez. This poor guy. I wonder if Kino picking that story to tell was intended to get him to question his choices, and if so, I wonder if the question he fired back was revenge. He presumably knows what Travelers are like, culturally, and how there is no destination, just the journey--so asking a Traveler where they’re going like that can be a hard question to answer.I don’t know whether I want this guy to be recalled by his company or not. I think I do--getting to live his life again instead of pur...
