I don't really talk about it, but magic in this series is done as simple latin phrases. A few recurring things are like how when Kat or Ana uses magic to create a peep hole, they just say "Portable Hole" in latin, or in this page she's saying "Bind the Dragon". It was actually inspired by the magic system in the game Dragon's Crown, where you use runes to form phrases. This time I'm immortalizing an in-joke from their D&D campaign... apparently when the DM was trying to describe the face on the front of a Belt of Stone Giant Strength, someone asked if he was describing Handsome Squidward, and yadda-yadda-yadda, it's now officially the Belt of Handsome Squidward Strength and it also makes you topless and sweaty when you wear it (the client doesn't actually remember how that part got started, but assumes it was his idea)
