Happy New Year
Dear Patrons, 2022 was a very mixed year in which I had to struggle a lot with my health. As far as my cards were concerned, I was also unable to implement many things the way I wanted to. I'm therefore all the more confident about the next 12 months.I hope you don't let bad days get you down and achieve all the goals and dreams you have in mind for the coming year.Thank you so much for your support! ♡Much loveDaniel
Innocence Holo Back (Video)
Beauties, I received my prototype brick today and I want to be honest with you, I wasn't overwhelmed by the holo effect. It must be said that today is really not a sunny day. And I didn't realize how important the right light is with this deck in particular. The holo foil do look great with enough light and the cards really feel amazing. The card board is even whiter than USPCC paper. I was hoping that it would be like this.Let me know what you think in the comments.Much loveDaniel
Surprise!
Beauties, my first coin will be available in the Innocence Kickstarter campaign.I wanted to wait to show it to you - the coins should be finished first. But I became impatient :DI'll have 500 coins produced. 400 in silver and 100 in gold. The gold ones are exclusively for you as Patreon member. The coin will have the size of a half dollar with ridged edges.200 of the silver coins will be available in the "First Come First Serve" reward. Like that you'll basically get the coin for free on top. I really want everyone in this card w...

Holo Innocence campaign images & information
Beauties, Kickstarter has approved the Innocence Holo deck. Theoretically, I could launch the campaign right now. But strategically, of course, that would be pretty stupid :DI will post the link to the pre-launch page here, probably in 2-3 days, so you can follow the campaign first before I make a public post. The pre-launch page with the follow function has become an indispensable feature to help a Kickstarter project succeed. For the next 6 weeks until the launch of the campaign, I'm making it my mission to make as many people as possible ...
New MxS deck
I'm currently working on the extras for the "First Come First Serve" Kickstarter reward for the Innocence holo deck. If everything works as I imagine, there will be a very nice new add-on, which I've never done before. As soon as I have something more to show you will of course be the first to see what I am talking about. On the side, I started designing the face cards of a completely new MxS deck a few days ago. Before I put the focus completely on the Innocence campaign, I wanted to show you a few details. It will be the first d...
Innocence Holographic Prototypes

Christmas Gift 2022 (Black Roses VIP)
Beauties, one of the privileges of the highest 'Black Roses VIP' tier of my Patreon page is the annual Christmas gift. This year you'll get two very special decks.1 Muffin deck and 1 Innocence Holo prototype. The Muffin decks is from my private stock. It's always hard for me to part with the decks I've created and preferably I always want to have so many that I never run out. At the same time, Muffin also means a lot to me. But for you I will part with the decks, hoping that you will be gentle with them. Only 500 have been pr...
The new Jacks / "Ad-Card"
Drew (JS) and Álvaro (JH) are the new Jacks in the Vintage Casinos. I'm really happy with the cards. Fortunately, the feeling is mutual :DYesterday I had the idea to add a photo with the Black Roses Casino sign on the last card in the Vintage Casino deck. So I drove down the alley to shoot this photo... 🙃Much loveDaniel
Holo Innocence Production Update
Today I finally received some clips of the Innocence holo uncut sheets. I have put them together for you in one video.I had firmly expected the prototypes to be ready by early December. Gladly we still have a bit more time. I would like to hold the deck in my hands first before I announce the Kickstarter campaign. Please let me know what you think. My biggest fear was that the holo foil turns out so bright that you almost can't see anything. But as you can see, it looks perfect and even the smallest dot is visible.Much loveDaniel

Be a part of the deck
Beauties, I want to give you the chance to be a part of the very first Black Roses Vintage Casino deck with your face on one of the Jacks.I would like to start with the Jack of Hearts and Jack of Spades. As in the past, a Jack costs 400€ ($416.50).For this amount you'll receive your card as PDF file and 30 Pink BR Vintage Casino decks (total worth 450€). So your own face in the deck is just like the best free bonus on top.I will use the amount won by the Jacks to fix a small problem that occurred in the production of the Innocence holo p...
A beautiful discovery
I fell a bit in love with the idea to print the very first Black Roses Vintage Casino deck in pink with my minimalized court cards. I know that the color is certainly not everyone's cup of tea but maybe that's why I like it even more. Feel free to let me know what you think. To get inspiration for the "ad-cards" of my casino decks I like to google the ad-cards of old casino decks. This way I make sure to really capture the vintage vibe. After a while I came across these two images.I'm blown away by these two borderless cards....

Black Roses Vintage Casino
A deck idea I've had on my computer for a few months now, as I'm not sure if this is going to be a thing or not. I'm a big fan of this type of deck design. But of course, it makes me wonder if there is still room for another tribute deck of this type? Feel free to let me know your honest opinion in the comments.Small runs in say 6 different colors to end up with a very nice collectible. Wouldn't that be sweet?Much loveDaniel
Angle Z Corner Tool (+ Video)
Check out the quick demonstration:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EkIGLlbfyQk3 years ago Madison and I decided to add an Angle Zero gaff card to the very first Remedies deck. Since then I added AZ gaffs to a many more decks. If you take a closer look at all these gaffs, you'll notice that the shape of the ripped corner never changed. It's always the same corner in every different deck. The reason for this is the "Angle Z Corner Tool" (better name suggestions are welcome :D) A template for the AZ gaffs so that the torned corner alwa...
Deck Reviews
David just uploaded 2 deck reviews.A thumbs up and a nice comment from you on YouTube would make our day - at least mine 🌝Signature review:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp6gd27EpTgEderot & V1 review:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFvv40psPSoI started to work invesively on the Innocence Holo Kickstarter campaign that I want to launch on February 4 - almost exactly 2 weeks before my birthday. I need your opinion on a few details but I'll show you more next week.Much loveDaniel
Black Roses Ghost Hunt
Hey, I'm glad you're here!Four ghosts are up to mischief at blackroses.cards. I could use some help catching them. They hide pretty well but if you catch them, they'll drop a full shopping cart with huge discounts. I hope you can find all four. Thanks for your help!Monday night they will mysteriously disappear again :D
Angle Z
Yesterday I had an idea, and I had to laugh when I saw the result. It's one of those ideas that makes you think, "why on earth didn't we think of this before?" Guidelines on the Angle Z Gaff showing where you should tear off the corner. This way you don't have to worry about the torn off shape not fitting to the printed corner of the card.
Gold Gilded Black Roses V1 are online
I just received the email that the gold gilded Black Roses V1s are ready to ship. Now I'm just waiting for the gilded Edelrot decks so that they can ship all at once. The gilded V1s are limited to 200 decks and the original plan was to sell them during the Edelrot Kickstarter campaign. I didn't do that because I didn't have enough time and didn't want to offer the deck in the last hours.Get them here:https://blackroses.cards/products/gold-gilded-black-roses-v1I will probably post it publicly this weekend.
Brown Remedies
This week I'll send all "Bremedies" files together with the MxS Casino "Stingers" to USPCC.
Seal Sticker / Magic Orthodoxy
Thank you for all your comments on my last post. I decided not to make more than one seal sticker for the same deck. From a collector's point of view, I still like the idea, but I can see how this can cause trouble for no reason. The main reason that convinced me came from Jorge. He told me that it could confuse people and he is absolutely right. I was a little too euphoric about this idea. We will continue with the white seal. The new Remedies deck (not the new MxS Casino deck) has a few new courts with glasses on. Normally I'm not the ...
MxS Casino Update / Seal Stickers
Procrastination has dominated my everyday life a little bit the last days. That's why I set myself a goal. I'll send two new decks to USPCC by the end of this week! One of the decks is the MxS Casino "Stingers" deck. For the first MxS Casino edition we made two different seal stickers. Standard in red and stripper deck in blue. Printing the blue stickers was ridiculously expensive because we had to pay for 1000 stickers, but we only ended up printing around 200 stripper decks - I don't even remember the exact number anymore. ...
Tally Ho x Orbit
On June 14 I received an email from USPCC with the original Tally-Ho tuck box, Jokers and Ace of Spades. The only text was "Here ya go!". I was confused and I already wanted to response that they accidently forwarded this email to me. But Chris wrote me a few seconds later and he told me about the Tally Ho x Orbit idea. He signed an NDA so he couldn't really tell me more about the project.Chris' first idea was to print a black deck. But I wanted to stay as close as possible to the original design/colors. I also wanted a blue dec...
Innocence Holographic Edition (Update / Insights)
In my last Innocence update at the end of July I still thought that fall this year would be realistic time frame for the "Innocence Holographic Edition" Kickstarter campaign. There are too many risks involved in printing the Innocence back design without seeing prototypes first and I was a bit too optimistic with the prototype price for a few decks. It turns out that the price for ONE single deck with holo foil is over $1000. At this point, I don't remember if it might have even been over $2,000 or not, but definitely too much money ...
Gold Gilded Remedies Pre-Release
Beauties, I wanted to give you a chance to grab the Gold Gilded Black Remedies already before the rest of the world can do it.https://blackroses.cards/products/gold-gilded-black-remediesPassword: goldWith every purchased Gilded Remedies deck you get a regular Remedies deck of your choice (black or pink) for free on top. Queen of Diamonds
The Queen of Diamonds in most of my decks is my good friend Nina. She passed her theoretical driving test today. It would be fun if you could write "Congratulations on passing the theory test" under her last post on Instagram :DI'm very happy with her old card, but now that her hair is longer, I thought it was time to adjust her card. It looks less spectacular now, but that was exactly my goal - making it look more like a standard playing card.I also enlarged her eyes. That's one thing I'm adjusting on a lot of cards right no...
