Year of the Tiger
Of course we couldn't pass on the opportunity to spotlight Thomas in his year, right? This is a bonus image we're putting up on both here and DA at the same time, the actual next Daylight page will come later in the day at some point. Running a little behind on that but it's mostly finished.Had a lot of fun doing this one, liked using it as an excuse to play around with proportions and fabric and the like.
Meeting Missingno
Heheh... Anybody looking forward to Legends: Arceus? Whether you are or not, here's a cute little picture to celebrate~Martin and I have been looking back over older pictures that we could do better lately. This particular one was re-drawn a while ago...https://www.deviantart.com/lance-the-young/art/Catching-Missingno-589876694It was a big hit on Deviantart, one of the most-favorited Pokemon pictures we've ever drawn, but it was also very simple and easy for us to give it another shot. It started as that, and Martin went the extra mile ...
Joichi Commission - Naruko Demotion
Heh... Yeah, little commission we did of Naruko being mentally ARed by..... Sasuke's daughter. ..... Sarada. Fine. She's Hokage now. About all we got.Got something really special for you folks next update, though~
Annakatan Commission - Sleepy Cereza
Annakatan ordered two sleeping-baby pictures back to back, this one of Bayonetta sleeping on the train. ^^ Never actually played Bayonetta so sorta pulled the dialog out of nowhere, hope you folks like.
Annakatan Commission - Sleepy Negi
Heh. This was a commission from Annakatan, the dialog being a last-minute addition. Weird thing is that our art's been improving pretty rapidly lately (you guys who talked to us on Discord, you know what we're talking about) so we can already think of plenty of little ways to improve this picture, but it's also easily the best shot of Negi we've done thus far. It's just that this was drawn innnn.... ..... July?! Huh.Either way, already sorta wanna draw the kid again now just to illustrate further improvements.
Daylight Park - Half Step, Page 1
Lot going on in this one; wanted to really establish right away how essential Nainika is to a lot of the goings-on at Daylight Park with a multitude of characters talking about her in a number of ways from the mundane to the very specific, plus of course seeing her sons. Kind of just some fun with the cast to get the new story arc started off on, was nice getting to do so many people here. First time in a long time we've drawn Dinah, Robbie, and Joshie in particular. If you don't recognize the girl in the third panel, that's Kayda, w...
Look At This Stuff
Isn't it neat? You might remember this old challenge picture we did for Link -https://www.deviantart.com/lance-the-young/art/91-Link-355368974Felt like a concept worth revisiting, was intended to be one of a couple of pictures we were working on for the anniversary last year but both ended up falling behind schedule a bit. This one does certainly have a lot less going on than the first one did, but it also benefits from being vastly better drawn. Used it as an excuse to play around with how we're trying to do more vibrant colors of late.
Annakatan Commission - Shy Frannie
Little bit of a cooldown after that Luz picture, just a simple little Ace Attorney commission. Series I'd really like to work with a lot more often than we do.
Every Witch Way But Luz
This one's getting moved waaay up in line just because we're extremely happy with how it turned out. Trying to ape the style of The Owl House and think it worked out very well, and it actually kind of led to a bit of reevaluation of our art on the whole, spurred us to start doing more vibrant colors in general.Kind of want to do more Owl House stuff in general, it's a show that's just kind of calling for it.Actually sort of meant to try two versions of this with Amity's different hairstyles but kind of realized they're m...
Lulshi Commission - Magical Oversight Page 8
A lot of you guys will remember that last month I said I'd be moving states? It so happens that I'll be hitting the road today. I'm... quite a perfect mixture of terrified and eager. I should be on the road for two and a half days (ish) going from Louisiana to West Virginia, so please everyone bear with us.In the meantime, we learn that as part of her tendency of hopping dimensions, Kayda transtorms into whatever the dominant species of the current world she's in is. Going through a portal to Vespi's world, she's turned ...
Daylight Park - Half Step, Cover
Hey, we're on time! Two versions of this one, not sure if we wanted to keep with the black and white for these so just did it both ways. Our next store is focused on this pair, Nainika and Amelia; Nainika's been here and there in previous stories, Amelia's been mentioned but I think that's it thus far. Do hope everyone will enjoy what's to come with these two.
Daylight Daily - The Dragon's Ascent, Part 5 Illustrated
Heheh... And here it is with illustrations. Hope you guys enjoy~Just love that image of her sleeping on her horde. ^^
Joichi Commission - Two Step Regression
Hm.... We've got a lot of commissions coming up. I'm going to have to eventually find something to replace Dr. Nick.
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Boom-Boom
Heheh... Yeah, this was a picture we did of Yuki about a week or so ago that just looked adorable. ^^ Since we dressed her up to look all winter-y, it was grabbed for this lovely little Christmas picture. Sonny from Daylight Park is serving as an elf for a Mall Santa. ^^
Learning Aide - Drop Off
Been a while since we hit Learning Aide pictures, so here's another one. Backing up to have Nina dropping her baby sister off at the Home Ec class to be used as a teaching aide. Very cute bit. ^^
Future Events Uncertain
Hey, just a heads up to all our Patrons. Updates should still occur on schedule, but there's a pretty high chance that commissions might be delayed.Hate saying it, but we've got a LOT of doom-y Real-World-insanity sort of getting exponentially worse, related to a move that's going to be happening. We're going to get to everything eventually and are doing our best to make sure things go at an even cuff, but please understand if things are delayed for a month or so. Thank you all for your continued support.
Peni Parker Tournament Comic, Page 2
And now the conclusion....Heheh... Yeah, of course Peni couldn't get Mysterio taken out without getting regressed herself. Fortunately she's able to easily get around it to take out the bad guy. Not as many weird dumb Marvel references here but...-Mysterio mentioning he plans to make some "Humiliating baby pictures" of Peni as his "Next Project" means this one has his 616-Backstory of having been in showbiz before turning to villainy. -When Peni is using her psychic connection to her spider, the lines around her head are...
Daylight Daily - The Dragon's Ascent, Part 5
Yeah, sorry, we've been juggling a LOT of IRL stuff lately, so we don't quite have the illustrations for this one up yet. We'll get that version up whenever we can.In the meantime, yeah, this wraps up Kayda's story. She'll be a character in proper Daylight stories going forward. Hope you folks enjoy~
Peni Parker Tournament Comic, Page 1
Heheheh... Yeah, it's been a long time coming, but Peni Parker finally gets her AR-focused comic after winning the tournament! This was put off for a long time because of the dread of drawing her robot, so the script was re-written so it hadn't been rebuilt yet.Part 2 will be released after the new movie drops!Few geeky details....-The version of Mysterio from Peni's universe is drawn to resemble an Angel from Evangelion and the Mom from Kill La Kill, both examples of weird anime references.-The item he's using for the regressio...
Dirtybooks Commission - Fashion On The Lake
Heheh.... Yeah, Dirtybooks watched Infinity Train by way of us having it on during a commission stream and found out how awesome the show was. Loved putting it out there. ^^ So he eventually wound up commissioning this adorable shot of Lake.We need more of Lake. We need more people to see Infinity Train. ^^ Great show. Spread the word.
Instructing the Emperor
This one's been sitting unfinished for awhile, decided I felt like wrapping it up and getting it posted. Pretty ambitious one, trying to go a little more like the Three Houses art style while also still keeping it pretty distinctly ours. Point of comparison the initial draft of this picture looked like this -https://sta.sh/0whdjw0my1tKind of amazed we haven't done significantly more Three Houses. We have at least one more picture sitting with it but it has a wealth of people we could work with, really great cast.
Anonymous Commission - Roxas Crew
Heheh.... Yeah, an anonymous gentleman commissioned all these pictures of Kingdom Hearts characters, so here's Roxas's crew. ^^
Anagram For Despair
We said there'd be an extra update on the third. All you Switch fans, give in to the despair. Phu-phu-phu....
Daylight Daily - The Dragon's Ascent, Part 4
First of all everybody, swing by on the third! We're having a bonus update! But yeah, Kayda's adventures continue, as she finds out just how much of a dragon she is. How great is that, folks? ^_^ A lot of Thomas in this one, but he won't be in the next page.
Commission Round Up
Just a series of commissions that aren't QUITE worth their own submission. Hope everybody likes the result. All of them are OCs, though one is Game Master from Yu Yu Hakusho.
Annakatan Commissoin - Bayo Bayo
As we were looking at this picture to submit it, Martin pointed out that Jigglypuff doesn't learn Hypnosis. Clearly the Jigglypuff she was fighting was a hack.
I'm Not The One Who Needs Them!
Heheh... Remember this one?https://www.deviantart.com/lance-the-young/art/They-Make-Them-This-Big-744494903Always kinda wanted to do a sequel, and eventually got around to it. Haru and Sensei attempt to push their assumptions about the other to the logical conclusion.
(ILLUSTRATED!) Daylight Daily - The Dragon's Ascent, Part 3
Heheh... Yeah, we're re-uploading this one for the illustrations. Kayda moves closer to her dream of being a dragon. Adorable, isn't she? ^^
Distortion World HD
What better way to celebrate the release of Diamond and Pearl than this picture of an area that isn't in them (well, okay, it kinda is)? You might remember the ancient original version of this picture.https://www.deviantart.com/lance-the-young/art/Trainer-Erika-Distortion-World-593790193This came around, much like the Dialga comic from a few months back, out of looking around for pictures to try getting a foot in the door on doing redraws of for Adam's birthday. I did the background, Giratina, and Azelf at that point and then we just ki...
Daylight Daily - The Dragon's Ascent, Part 3
Sorry folks, we've had a LOT on our plate these last few weeks so I haven't had time to do the visuals on this one yet. I'm gonna get a nap but wanna get the lineart out once I wake up. We're submitting the text early just so everyone knows the finished version is coming. In the meantime... Kayda is going through some changes as well. ^^
