A note from the Road ❤️
Hello beautiful patrons,A note from the road. Currently in Sacramento. We‘ve got about 2.5 weeks left of tour. Here’s what I have learned.-The United States is incredibly beautiful. From the golden fields of the mid west to the mountains of Colorado. It’s made me want to really prioritize travel in my life. That actually makes living in NYC way more special. Also seeing Native American place names every single day in every state definitely drives home how stolen this land is.-I’ve met so many people who have been following my wo...

notes from the road .1 -MALINDA
Hello my beautiful patrons :)I've wanted to start a little "journal" series on Patreon where whenever I can I write a little about the shows I do this year where I share stories that I won't share on all of my socials. This is the beginning of something quite special hopefully, and I want to document it even just for me, but it felt right to share it with you too. This last Thursday and Friday I flew to Grand Rapids, MI to open for The Swell Season. I joined them on their Chicago show as well. Here are a few stories from the gig:-...

Hello my loves :DWE HAVE A NEW COVER WOW FINALLY!!! Thank you to the amazing Cullen Vance for adding his beautiful work to this. It felt very good to make one of these again.I'll have a little update email coming to you all soon, but this week my focus is getting ready to open for The Swell Season (AHH), so once I'm home from that I'm going to schedule a livestream and other fun pre-single and pre-tour activities :).Speaking of tour- if you haven't gotten your tickets yet, definitely do so!! Also bring your friends!!You all are ...
I improvised a whole song, here it is
Hello my beautiful patrons.I've been posting my daily improvs on Discord (will start that back up again today or tomorrow), and this one from July 16th really stood out to me and the friends that heard it. I was feeling super disconnected from my voice, so I just turned on an amp with some reverb, turned on a drone and sang. I'd also just been to my family lake house for our reunion, this time without my grandmother who passed away in December, and emotionally went through the wringer that week for lots of different reasons. You can hear...
A new song??
Hello my beautiful patrons,Been having an excellent time with my new looper. I'm not sure about this, but I think it's a verse, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge/ending. I'll probably add another pre-chorus. It's just a sort of mantra to help me remember that I want the best for myself. Below are the current lyrics that will most definitely change. Thinking *possibly* of a sort of Bobby McFerrin session style feel, really minimal production, a little jaunty whistle, lots of perc, gang vocals, very folky. What I'm interested to kn...
Livestream TODAY in at 1pm EDT!

WATCH PARTY- Visual album available NOW
Hello my amazing patrons,My intention this week was to have a live watch party where I could give live commentary on the film, but I recognized that it wouldn't be a great experience for us due to the technical complications of achieving that on my own. It wouldn't be as smooth as I'd want it to be for you.SO.Here is the visual album. For you, all of my patrons. For the next 24 hrs. We will hop on a separate livestream at 1pm EDT (a little later than scheduled just to give people time to watch if need be) and we can chat about some ...
Between Us and Them - the animation
Hello my extraordinary patrons-Some backstory for you.It was 2020. We were all very much stuck at home, everything cancelled. My friend, Patrick Lord, an award-winning projection designer in theater posts, "any artist friends who are wanting to do some kind of animation project? Looking for something to collaborate on remotely." I immediately leapt and said yes.I knew that Between Us and Them would be on the album- that was actually the first song I felt that way about! So I felt comfortable investing the time and money into telling thi...
Figured Out, the full scene, is here.
Hello my beautiful patrons. This scene...breaks me every time. It was our first day of shooting. I told the team, "My friends are going to come in here, and we're going to sing. We're going to have 3 camera coverage going and lots of different audio sources. My goal is to make my friends as comfortable as possible as if the cameras weren't even there so that they can do exactly what they know how to do." This was a daunting task for any crew, let alone a crew that had just met, but they smashed it.We had no rehearsal. My frie...

Hello my amazing patrons!!I've decided to release the music videos to the 3 singles from the album on YouTube, so aside from Brooklyn, here is the next one!! I'm very proud of this music video. It was very tough to film technically (shadow puppets are no joke) but it turned out so well! Also announcement-- on July 1st at 12pm EDT I am going to stream the movie JUST FOR YOU ALL at a slightly lower resolution so that I can simultaneously give some directors commentary and answer your questions!
