a long time ago in the fifth grade i had a friend who told me i ought to stand up for myself against bullying . and i had several bullies rather than the "One" as teachers, child psychologists, and bad writers often portray. this same friend also recommended i walk slower and start looking at things besides the ground all the time. i listened and by sixth grade i was in detention a lot. 🤭 worth it.

Red Clovis is a character i have wanted to use in a story. like a lot of my characters she came straight out of the dreamscape. in the dream she had accidentally conjured up an ancient god of war but couldn't remember which one. one day i would like to develop that as a separate story. as of now she belongs here and i think will be a fun character to write for. 🙂

i don't know much about belief and i've never been particularly faithful. i'm well versed in religious scripture out of past hopes that by immersion i might become a believer in something. it didn't work like that. instead i became hopelessly agnostic. at best, i don't know. i do feel a sort of spiritual awareness when i'm immersed in nature, especially the great basin desert where i can completely disconnect from humanity. this isn't to knock belief, far from it. there is still a little kid part of my soul who wants...

shortly after dad died i found a recording of him singing this song. it broke me and i started crying uncontrollably. it's impossible to describe all the feelings i've been dealing with over the years from losing him. i guess it's what is driving me to draw Tiger Tea in the first place.
