Voting for the Hidden Alley Project
Our latest community project, the Hidden Alley, is ready for voting! We asked our community to help us make assets for an urban alleyway environment (the theme that you guys voted for), and the results are in. Now we need your help scoring each of them so we can dish out the prizes to the best assets :) It's going to be close!Cast your votes here: https://forms.gle/ML6Ez4uCJtTb5t4i9Voting is anonymous, though you'll need a Google account to log in, which ensures nobody can vote twice. We have way more prizes than assets, thanks to our ama...
27 Assets Published in May
All of The Shed assets are now live :)Download them all here: https://polyhaven.com/allComing next month are some of our new Pine Forest collection!
30 Assets Published in April
That's a 168 days in our "asset per day" streak!Download them all here: https://polyhaven.com/allAs fun as this streak was, next sunday we don't have an asset to publish and will go back to 6 assets per week for a while. It was never our goal to share an asset every day, we'd rather focus on quality than quantity and are now spending our time developing workflows to capture nature biomes (and of course on the community projects).

Changes to how Patrons can make suggestions
We like to get feedback from you guys about what we could be working on - what types of assets are most useful or missing from our library. We do listen to everyone's suggestions on social media, but we also like to have a way to prefer feedback from the people supporting us (i.e. you!) - to give you guys a legitimate way to directly influence the content on polyhaven.com (other than just paying for it of course!).Previously we had a Trello board where patrons could add suggestions and vote on other people's ideas, but we found this to h...

The Shed project was a lot of fun, and with things starting to wrap up there we're getting ready to plan the next community project! We'd like your help to determine the next theme, please cast your votes here: https://forms.gle/eSXtbpqkkHFFiP2z8If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a quick summary of the idea:We set a theme and work with our community to create assets along side us, creating a big scene together. All the assets created (which meet our technical standards of quality) will be published on Poly Haven a...

28 Assets Published in November
Here are all the assets we published this month! There are 28 of them, that's almost 1 per day.A while ago we did a survey that asked if you guys would like to see a summary each month of the assets we published, since you probably don't check the site all the time or see every single post we make on social media :)This is that summary, and I plan to do it every month on the last day. Let me know if you like this idea or not :)Here's what next month's schedule is looking like so far - we should have something every single day of...
Our Vision for 2023
Poly Haven has grown a lot this year, thanks in no small part to your continued support on Patreon and through our new Blender add-on <3I've been thinking a lot about how to move forward and figure out the best ways to produce better free and public domain 3D content - and I'm excited to announce some of these plans to gather feedback from you before implementing them!First of all, about our current funding goal on the website:The current goal of hiring a full time texture artist was already somewhat implemented earlier this year when w...
Blender Conference 2022
James, Dario and I traveled to Amsterdam last week to attend the first Blender Conference since the pandemic. To say it was an amazing experience would be an understatement! It was a pleasure to meet some of you and hang out, I hope we can do it again soon :)As is my tradition, I took many photos of the people at the conference and made a little gallery here.See you next time!
Voting for the Shed assets!
The Shed project has been a major success! We received almost 100 asset submissions from more than 50 artists, and about half of those actually meet our quality standards and can be published on polyhaven.com :)To put that into perspective, we "only" have 160 models on the site right now, and this will push that number over 200!Now we need to dish out prizes to all those amazing artists who contributed their work, and we need your help to do it.We have more than enough prizes to go around, but we need to determine who gets first pick...T...
Blender Asset Browser Integration
Download the Blender add-on at the bottom of this post.Download the add-on at the bottom of this post where it says "Attachments"Long has the prophecy foretold of the day Poly Haven makes their assets available directly in Blender.Today is that day! Here's a little demo of it in action:Download it at the bottom of this post. This add-on is for sale on the Blender Market, in an effort to raise funds for us to create more assets, but we're also making it available to all $5+ patrons. The add-on also includes early access to upcoming ...
Beta test our new Blender add-on!
I'm just about ready to release our new add-on, which integrates all of our assets into Blender's asset browser. If you're interested in helping me run some final tests and make sure it behaves the intuitively, check it out here: https://github.com/Poly-Haven/polyhavenassets#readme
The Shed: A Community Project
Remember the book cover design contest we ran in 2020?The project was a community contest where we asked people to design original CC0-compatible book covers that we (and everyone) could use on a 3d book asset. We arranged a bunch of prizes and asked you guys to vote on the best designs.Overall the project was a great success, and now we’d like to do it again! Only instead of book cover designs, we’ll do actual 3D props! The Shed is a community project where we'll be creating a realistic environment together, and giving away over $3000 wo...

Smuggler's Cove now on the Unreal Marketplace
While almost all the Cove assets are available on our website for free (with the exception of a bunch of environment scans we're still working on Blender versions for), we've finally published them on the UE Marketplace as a convenient pack ready to use in engine.Essentially this just saves you time from downloading the FBX/Blend files from our site and setting up each asset in Unreal yourself, while also providing a different avenue to support our work financially. This is more or less an experiment in the whole asset pack idea, as well...
Render gallery is open again!
Our render gallery is finally open for submissions again!Just before we moved from HDRI Haven to Poly Haven last year, I had to close the render gallery to prepare the database for the migration. I've really missed seeing what you guys make with our work, so I finally found the time to re-implement the whole gallery system on the new site, which was a whole lot more complicated than I was expecting but it's finally done :)If you've made some awesome artwork using our HDRIs/textures/models, we'd really love to see it!Check out th...

Asset Survey!
Following on from last week's post, here's a poll for you guys to help us decide what to work on next year!https://forms.gle/9E2Zm7c6VM5Yue4U9The results of the poll are public, so you can see afterwards what everyone else is thinking too :)This poll is meant to be for Patrons only, so please don't share the link with anyone. We're not promising to work on the most-voted asset types, but we are obviously doing this to see what is most in demand by you guys which will help us decide.I included the usual "Other..." checkbox...
Planning Ahead - What should we work on?
With the Smuggler’s Cove project moving ahead and planned to complete in January, it’s a good time to think a few steps ahead and decide what to work on next year. One of our core staff is also stepping away from Poly Haven for a few months to work on an exciting project, which gives us an opportunity (and budget) to pivot and try something new if we want to, potentially hiring some short-term contractors for something specific. We have some ideas of our own of course, but I’d like to ask you guys what you think we should do :)The budget ca...
