Chapter 4, Page 52
First page of the month! :DA few notes/announcements as we get closer to public release:Current patrons: If you are able to see this post and you stay through DOTU's public release (June 15 or sooner), you will continue to get early access comic pages after public release as a thank you for supporting DOTU through hibernation! (Basically, all current patrons except the "no reward" tier.) New patrons joining after May 25 will have to join the $5 tier for early access pages. We got within 5 patrons/Paypal supporters of our 350-patron g...
New Author/Artist Website!
We'll have a new DOTU page this Monday, but in the meantime I wanted to share another thing I had in the works. With my new novels coming out soon, I needed a hub that led people to both my novels and my comic and showed all my latest news, so I have a new website! Here it is, for all your bookmarking and RSS-feeding needs:https://www.bobappavu.com/The DOTU website (demonoftheunderground.com) hasn't changed. It's still the public home of DOTU, and once the comic goes live again, I'll still talk about news and new books there too. ...
A $50 slot is open! (Read before pledging)
One of my two $50 slots has been occupied by a declined card this month. I held it until the last few hours of the month to give the patron a chance to fix it, but no luck. Now is my last chance to try to recoup the combined unexpected $100 loss between April and May, so I'm opening the slot!As many of you already know, the $50 slot is the custom card slot. We figure out your rank and sphere, and I do a custom card design for you. This tier ALSO gets a quarterly original sketch in the mail, and May is a sketch month!Anyone is welcome to tak...
Pogo's April 2019 Letters Have Been Sent! +News
Pogo's April 2019 letters have been sent to all processed $5+ patrons, so you should be getting them soon. Email letters went out a few hours ago, so if you haven't received them yet and they aren't in your spam folder, let me know. All April rewards are wrapped up, but I have some super exciting stuff coming in May! But I know most people don't read the "Pogo's letters have been sent" notices, so I'll save the news for a separate post. :PIn this letter, Pogo explains why he's bad at managing money, and he goe...
Minicomic - Pogo Writes a Romance Novel (nsfw text)
This is April's Secret Gallery art! I'm posting this one directly to the feed because the offsite gallery doesn't handle vertical scroll comics well. It's also up in the Secret Gallery; it's just not as easy to read there.Scroll down for the comic!
Devoted - Merritt's Story 2 - Chapter 14
Ack, I wish I hadn't made all my chapter header images before changing my name. XD I don't want to have to redo them all, so I'll probably just leave them as is and switch to Bob Appavu for book 3 and any compilations.ANYWAY, here's the new chapter, and it's one I've been looking forward to! After this, I have a bit of a mad dash to finish my third and final Lychgate manuscript, but I'm going to try to fit in Merritt's Story chapter 15 ASAP because I've so been looking forward to that one too
Chapter 4, Page 51
Here's a page! :D We also have the next chapter of Merritt's Story coming this Thursday and rewards coming over the next 8-9 days! There's a minicomic that's been on my mind that I want to do for the Secret Gallery tier.....We're only 4 pages away from my 25-page buffer goal to bring DOTU back to the public, and 15 more patrons/Paypal supporters to meet the 350-patron goal. My aim is to hit those goals and go public by June 15, and I'll be working behind the scenes to help us hit those goals. If you can stick around for ...
Art of Death - New Cover Reveal and Blurb!
You guys are the first to see it! My upcoming novel Art of Death (2nd ed) is scheduled for a September 3 release, which happens to also be my birthday. XD I'm gonna be doing a whole lot of reveals over the next couple of weeks, including a new author website and a new thank-you video for patrons, but we're starting with the new book cover and blurb!A new era, new manuscript, and new publisher called for a new approach to the cover. It's definitely a different vibe than I thought I'd aim for at the start. Gritty paranormal thrill...
And the winning pin is.......
The enamel pin vote got super close right near the end! Version 4 actually had one additional vote from a Paypal supporter, but version 1 still squeaked by for the win!But hey, if it ever seems financially feasible for me to do a second pin or pendant that isn't a Patreon exclusive, I could give version 4 a shot. I kind of want to do North Sphere drink pins too..... Lol, too many ideas. XDBut in the meantime, here's what's coming! I have a consultation next week with a Patreon staff member for tips and best practices when setting up...
New Name, New Face, New Mobile Format Episodes and More!
We're only 5 PAGES AWAY from my 25-page buffer goal! We're LESS THAN 20 SUPPORTERS away from my 350 Patreon/Paypal patrons goal!In other words, we're getting close! So that means I'm doing some housekeeping to make sure everything is ready for the relaunch! As I'm gearing up for the public release of DOTU's new pages, I have a whole bunch of exciting things planned. First on the list: I'm relaunching some of the old mirror sites I didn't have the time/funding to maintain over the past couple years. I'm also plan...
POLL! DOTU free enamel pin design!
"Special offers" are a new beta feature on Patreon that allows creators to offer a limited time reward to all patrons in specific tiers. Since I'm aiming to get enough patrons to finally bring DOTU back to the public, I'm hoping the special offer will encourage new patrons to join while also giving something special to those of you who have supported DOTU throughout its patron-only hibernation. If you're included in this post (presumably you're pledging $10 or higher), my plan is for you to get a free pin and sticker if y...
Merritt's Story Excerpt (p2ch14)
Hey guys! As you might already know, my publishing deadlines have been killing me, so Merritt's Story updates have been a little sparse. But the next chapter is with the beta readers now, so I'm aiming to have it posted later in the month! In the meantime, I'm sharing an excerpt of one of my favorite parts of the chapter. For a bit of background, Merritt is at Yackley's on his day off, but he's trying to get a chance to talk to Belmont about some North Sphere business. Belmont just finished winning a card game in which he cha...
Chapter 4, Page 50
I know a lot of y'all have been debating here and on Discord about who was gonna show up on this page, so I know you guys are gonna be having some mixed feelings here... (and of course I'm horrible so I'm enjoying all of it XD)All of a sudden, a lot of the stuff I've been lining up over the past 10 months or so is starting to happen, so I'm gonna be posting some news and updates soon, hopefully later this week. Keep an eye out! :D
A note from the dweeb
Working on today's page, and I realized that Merritt's face very much represented the state of my universe. XDAnyway, quick update! There WILL be a DOTU page today, but it'll be coming a few hours later in the day than usual. My weekend and morning were a fun mix of technical issues, my final edits deadline for book 1 in my upcoming series, and a fun bit of oral surgery. But stuff is on the way, so keep an eye out!
A special thing for the Secret Gallery+ Tiers...
I normally do character art for the Secret Gallery tier every month, and I still plan to do some for the March reward, but I also wanted to share something else that I have in the works just for you guys.Since we're getting closer to DOTU coming back to the public, I'm putting together a special offer for all the patrons who supported DOTU during the time that it was patrons only. $10 patrons and higher will get a FREE enamel pin and stickers, and $5 patrons will get just the stickers. (I'm still calculating shipping costs for inter...
Pogo's March 2019 GUEST Letters Have Been Sent!

(And also check your spam folder!)Sorry the salutations on the snail mail letters are so sloppy this round. We'll just say Littlehands had Pogo address them, and Pogo's cursive is slightly less refined than Littlehands. ^_^;I'm expecting to post March's Secret Gallery illustration tomorrow! As usual, let me know if:-you are currentl...

Thank you for bearing with me through my killer deadlines! Pogo's February 2019 letters are finally out to all processed $5+ February patrons, so you should be getting them soon. Get a sketch TODAY! Sketch+Secret Gallery Slot Open!
Apparently a slot opened in the $20 Sketch+Secret Gallery tier, and I forgot to announce it! D: I did 18 February sketches but I only have 17 sketch patrons. Due to terrifying deadlines all last week, I'm running late and packing Pogo's February letters TONIGHT. Email letters will go out today, and snail mail letters will be dropped in the mail tomorrow. So I have a bit of time before I have to seal the envelopes. What does this mean? Even though it's no longer February, if someone new joins the $20 tier TODAY, I can send you one of ...
Chapter 4, Page 47 (nsfw warning)
Here is the page at last! We are almost out of flashback territory...The Secret Gallery illustration went up a couple days ago, but I'm still working on Pogo's letters for February. (psst Sketch Tier patrons - if you still want to make a request, feel free to send it today, and I'll still be able to fit it in. I'm also a touch behind on replying/confirming, but if I didn't reply yet, it means all is good with your request.)I should be able to get Pogo's letters out today or tomorrow. I'm also aiming for another DOTU ...

February 2019 Sketch Tier Sketches 1-6
Hey guys! It's that time of the year! :D AKA February, the Cursed Month. It's a Sketch Tier month (YAY), but it's also the shortest month of the year (noooo), so you guessed it - the Secret Gallery illustration and Pogo's letters will go out over the next few days. We'll also have the next DOTU page on Monday, so there's lots and lots coming in a very short amount of time. XDA lot of this month's sketches were suggested by fellow readers on DOTU's Discord server. Reminder, y'all are always welcome to drop by ...
Next DOTU page, and some other little updates
Just a quick heads up - I got some big news dropped on me in regards to my published novels this weekend, and it kind of ate all the time I'd allotted for the next comic page. (Fwiw, it's probably *good* news, but it's something that required questions, thought, planning, analysis, etc.)Since February is a sketch tier month, I have the remainder of the month reserved for Patreon rewards. Depending on how fast they go, I might be able to get the next page up later in the week. Worst case scenario, it'll go up next Monday instead,...
Devoted - Merritt's Story 2 - Chapter 13
The newest chapter is here! As usual, you can read it inline or download the attached PDF. There might be a slightly longer delay before chapter 14 because I have a terrifying novel deadline at the end of March. But we'll see how things go! If I can't get a good chunk of Merritt's Story out in March, I'll compensate with some novel excerpts, and maybe also a chunk of that "Belmont's Story" I posted a scene from last year. ^_^And either way, we'll have a new DOTU page next Monday![Table of Contents]--------Book 2,...
It's that time! Pogo's 2019 Valentines!
Yep, it's that time of year! Since I missed 2018, there are SIX new valentines from Pogo this year! 2016 and 2017 are still in the voting incentive gallery, and I'm also juuust about to post/reblog them on tumblr. Chapter 4, Page 46
Alas, it's another painful one... though you probably already knew that. This is another week of killer deadlines including my second round of novel edits, so I'm expecting to get the next chapter of Merritt's Story out next week. And I promise it's a funner one! This is also a sketch tier month, and I'm going to *try* to start on the sketches earlier in the month. We'll see how things go!
Pogo's January 2019 GUEST Letters Have Been Sent! + February Pledge Processing
