[Divine] Artifact - Crown Judgment
This warhammer is a fragment of Ondrea the Unyielding Judge, bestowed upon a worthy champion of the God of Valor and Justice. Champions who wield this hammer are charged with dutifully dispensing justice upon the world, though the type of justice is not specified. They push heroically into the unknown, facing their fears head-on.—Crown JudgmentWeapon (warhammer), artifact (requires attunement)To attune to this warhammer, you must spend the duration of the attunement period facing one of your fears with weapon in hand. If you are not a followe...
[Divine] Artifact - Aubade Core
This flail is a fragment of Halean the Dawnbearer, bestowed upon a worthy champion chosen by the God of Sun and Life. The spiked head illuminates a simple path for Halean and his followers: repel the dark, attend the wounded, and cultivate the weak. The weapon judges not its wielder's true intentions as long as these tenets are followed.—Aubade CoreWeapon (flail), artifact (requires attunement)To attune to this flail, you must spend the duration of the attunement period basking in direct sunlight without interruption. If you are not a fol...
[Divine] Artifact - Agony & Ruin
These two darts are bone fragments of Qhyrra the Painweaver, granted to a worthy champion of the God of Pain and Misery. They represent the instruments used to weave the Tapestry of Pain that binds all living things. When Qhyrra grants these darts to a mortal champion, it is more of a test for the champion rather than a tool for any ultimate goal.—Agony & RuinWeapon Set (dart), artifact (requires attunement)To attune to these darts, you must spend the duration of the attunement period in intense pain with them piercing your flesh. You must ma...
[Collab] Weapon - Devil's Runeblade
I've recently had the pleasure of collaborating with @spectrecreations where he came up with the stats while I did the art. You may know him as the guy who made a lot of content for Februnerary, and now he has an upcoming Kickstarter for all that content!Sign up at this link to know when it goes live!---Devil's RunebladeWeapon (any sword), rare (requires attunement)You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.Rune of Accuracy. This 32-page supplement brings 20 new discoveries and adventures, 11 beachside activities, a new in-world sport, a druid subclass, 20 new items, 16 monsters, and 6 pages about the wonderful vacation locale.---Want to see more? Purchase it now either through the Patreon Shopor via DriveThruRPG!
[Coast] Monster - Wave Trap
Even when its shell is closed, the wavetrap is 8 feet wide and nearly 3 feet tall. Its gray-green and ribbed shell is especially durable and protects its soft fleshy interior from attack. The wavetrap spends most of its time on the ocean floor swallowing small creatures and plankton swimming across its open shell. Hunters dive deep to find clams for their delicious meat and the rare giant pearl.---This giant clam is designed to be more of a challenge than an ambush - ideally stealthily land surprise attacks before the clam can close its shell!
[Compendium] - The Halcyon Coast
I'm sure this is probably the last month I output twice the promised content! I'm getting a bit busier outside of this, so expect the pages to be reduced. This time I've got another 32 pages for your beach episode sessions, including discoveries, activities, treasures, resorts, and all things related to the beach. This theme specifically precludes oceans or deep seas, so all the content about ships, anchors, whales, etc will be in another future theme. Hopefully.Download the pdf to check out 20 new discoveries and adventures, 11 bea...
[Coast] Druid - Circle of Tides
It's a new druid! I've been kicking around an ocean-based druid for a while - it's a little challenging because Land Druid already covers all kinds of land, but I think I was able to hone in on aspects of the tide like push, pull, moons, and strength, and still manifest the water without requiring the character to be in the ocean.Druid subclasses progress in some similar ways: the 2nd level feature generally adds an alternative use of the Wild Shape feature, from the Moon improvement to the Star or Spore's changed forms. The 6th...
[Coast] Monster - Tanglekelp
This marine plant thrives in salt water environments, particularly along shallow coasts. Most of the tanglekelp’s body mass clusters around a central core, but its leaves extend up to a hundred feet. From the seafloor, the tanglekelp allows its leaves to drift gently in underwater currents, nearly indistinguishable from other varieties of kelp. The lines of kelp quickly tighten around prey that swim through them, trapping fish and drowning land-dwellers, their remains absorbed as nutrients.Tanglekelp bloom most wildly in spring seasons. Beach...
[Coast] Monster - Sand Clippers
The light sandy carapace hides the sand clipper just beneath the surface of coastal beaches. Keen eyes may recognize the small spikes that protrude from their shells, or the occasional cluster of giant barnacles that grow there. Their two long claws resemble perfectly serrated shears or “clippers,” capable of hewing fish in two. Luckily, the claws are not immediately fatal to larger creatures.---The "boss" of this compendium is the king clipper: a large crab creature with Lair Actions, Legendary Actions, and attackable bits! Players...
[Coast] Shield - Sunward Parasol
This fabric parasol has been enchanted with additional abjuration magic to protect guests of the Amity Shore Retreat from harsh sunlight. They come in a variety of colors and typically bear the sunny logo of the Retreat.---Sunward ParasolShield, uncommon (optional attunement by a Cleric, Paladin, or other Light-themed character)This parasol can be used as basic shelter from weather or as a shield. Thanks to its odd cumbersome form, only a character with a Strength score of 13 or higher can wield this shield. Sunblock. While you wield this magic...
[Coast] Weapon - Tidepool Staff
Soft sponge and anemone has formed this flexible staff, empowered by a sliver of tidal magic retained by the marine critters. The life guards at Seren Beach keep a couple around as flotation assistants.---Tidepool StaffWeapon (quarterstaff), rare (requires attunement)You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While attuned to it, you gain a swim speed equal to your walking speed and you can hold your breath for an additional 5 minutes before you begin to suffocate.Buoy. While you hold this staff, you can use a b...
[Coast] Monster - Animated Sand Sculpture
Sand sculptures are sometimes animated by wizards or master craftsmen to add flair to their creations. These minor enchantments tend to be harmless, ranging from a waving hand to a billowing flag, and ends when its purpose is served. In rare cases, sand sculptures may be animated by mages with ill intent or even the remnants of magical wastes washed onto beaches from upstream. These mindless constructs summon reflections of their most common features — a castle wall — into labyrinthian cages through which the sculpture can move and attack u...
[Coast] Item - Lamp of the Lightkeeper
Before the Halcyon Lighthouse and its enchanted autonomous lamp was built, visitors to the Halcyon Coast were guided by a mage tower home to a studious wizard. They guided ships and travelers atop the Sunwrought tower using a series of complex lenses powered by a magical lamp. Not only was the wizard an accomplished marine scholar and custodian, they were also a protector and adventurer in times of need, wielding their magical lamp against the forces of darkness.---Lamp of the LightkeeperWondrous item (spellcasting focus), legendary (requires a...
August Theme Poll
Welcome all new patrons from July! We've had a lot of growth and kind words this month, which has been super encouraging. I can't wait to see what new things we have in store. This month's theme is one of the more exciting ones for me because I really enjoyed exploring the chill and relaxing vibes of the beach and ocean. I also really like minigames or fun side adventures, so this was a perfect one for me. I'm glad a lot of people liked Ocean's Edge, one of my favorite ideas for its execution and unique charge mechanics. I ho...
[Coast] Weapon - Shell Shock
This mace isn't much more than an stormpike shell on a stick, but it gets the job done. Druids and rangers modify the transmutation enchantments embedded in the rod to regrow the shells to their preferred shapes.---Shell ShockWeapon (mace), rare (requires attunement)You have a +1 bonus attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.Shell. While you wield this weapon, you can use an action to launch its shell in an high arc at a point you can see within 20 feet of you. The shell shatters upon impact. Each creature within 5 feet of the t...
[Coast] Weapon - Conchuest of Seas
The fisherfolk of the Halcyon Coast must make do with what materials they have for protection, from the heavy shells of giant oysters to the long spires of the stiletto conch. Famous waveriders sometimes pass on their lances to a new generation of protectors when they retire, piling additional enchantments and magic onto it.---Conchuest of SeasWeapon (lance), rare (requires attunement)You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. This lance has 5 charges for the following properties and regains all expended charges daily...
[Coast] Shield - Sand Disc Buckler
This shield is crafted from the remains of a giant sand disc, a type of sea urchin that occasionally washes up along the Halcyon Coast. An imbued enchantment allows its dried husk to retain a fragment of its original marine life properties.---Sand Disc BucklerShield, rare (optional attunement by a Druid, Ranger, or Nature-themed character)While you wield this magic shield, you have a +1 bonus to your AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC. Additionally, you have resistance to bludgeoning and cold damage caused by a...
[Coast] Weapon - Ragebristle Spine
Spines from the ragebristle urchin carry with them a deadly venom that causes a victim's heart to pound uncontrollably. They deter gulls and cod from preying on the urchins in the wild, but capable assassins use them to cause unbridled chaos.---Ragebristle SpineAdventuring gear, weapon (dart)You deal an additional 1d4 poison damage to creatures you hit with this dart. A creature that takes this damage must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature rages and must immediately use its reaction to move in a random directi...
[Coast] Instrument - Tranquility
Bards of the Halcyon Coast craft smaller lutes called ukulutes, whose brighter tone make them excellent complements for peaceful songs. On slow summer days, their calming tunes sound across the beach to soothe weary travelers. This ukulute can be used as a spellcasting focus. While holding the instrument, you gain a +2 bonus to the saving throw DC of your bard spells and you can play it to cast dancing lights.---TranquilityWondrous item, instrument, very rare (requires attunement by a bard)Song of Recovery. While attuned, you and allies that be...
[Coast] Item - Guardian Whistle
Life guardians of the Seren Beach each wear a mundane whistle around their necks for danger, but senior guardians enchant theirs with a simple charm for greater wardship, for every second counts when a victim is drowning.---Guardian WhistleWondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)A sculpted piece of wood is embedded into this nautilus shell, sounding a whistle that can be heard up to 100 feet away. While you wear this whistle on your body, you can use a bonus action to blow it and move up to your speed directly towards an ally that is eithe...
[Coast] Weapon - Torrentializer
Each trademarked blaster is fitted with a Rehydrant Battery Mark 5, a oil-lined pod enchanted with endless water, though it can still function attached to any mundane water source. The blaster is most popularly used as a piece of watersport equipment, though fire brigades and thematically appropriate adventurers find practical use.---TorrentializerWeapon (light crossbow), rareThis blaster uses water as ammunition instead of bolts. When you hit a target with water shot from this blaster, you either deal bludgeoning damage or cold damage (your ch...
[Coast] Item - Pail of Excess Sand
High-end beach wardens keep an enchanted pail like this to replenish sand lost to natural elements. The origin of the sand has since been lost to time, but some suspect the pail pulls sand from a desert elsewhere.---Pail of Excess SandWondrous item, uncommonThis wooden pail appears to be empty upon inspection. As an action, you can flip over this pail and speak one of three command words, where upon an amount of sand pours out of the pail. The sand stops pouring out at the start of your next turn. Choose from the following options: "Clump&...
[Coast] Weapon - Ocean's Edge
Just a single item this week because the other content were released earlier last week as the compendium had already been finished.I'm very excited about this one because beach stuff is peaceful, tranquil, and can be a lot of fun, especially for players who need a break from a dark campaign. This weapon kicks it all off and embodies the coast itself, playing on a variable charge mechanic thematically appropriate to the tide's push and pull. Depending on how many charges you keep on the blade, it functions as either an oceanic attacker o...
[Infinity] Warlock - The Timeless Patron
I wasn't expecting to design a warlock at the beginning, but came around when I thought about how the Infinity Guard might receive their chronomantic abilities. The result was a warlock of the TImeless patron, one who exists outside of time and may give a fraction of that power to someone who asks.Let's take a look at the Timeless warlock:The typical warlock progression is simple: gain a subclass-defining 1st level feature, some defensive, resistive, or mobility-based 6th and 10th level features (their offensive power comes from full-ca...
[Preview] - Rites of the Infinity Guard
This is a preview for June's Rites of the Infinity Guardcompendium, which contains 10 pages of lore for the Timeless Infinity and Infinity Guard, 4 pages of time-travel adventure help, 1 new warlock subclass, 20 new items, 12 new extratemporal monsters, and 24 adventure hooks.---Want to see more? Purchase it now either through the Patreon Shopor via DriveThruRPG!
[Compendium] - Rites of the Infinity Guard
I keep saying this every month and never do it but I'll work down to 15 pages at some point so I get to sleep more. This month I've got 32 pages of content about things tangentially related to Infinity, including fractals, illusions, paradoxes, time streams, and a TVA-like agency protecting time.Download the pdf to check out 10 pages of lore for the Timeless Infinity and Infinity Guard, 4 pages of time-travel adventure help, 1 new warlock subclass, 20 new items, 12 new extratemporal monsters, and 24 adventure hooks.Head over to this pos...
[Infinity] Monster - Asynchronox Imp
I designed this imp mainly because I really wanted to make a Super Imp Position pun and I succeeded. 😎This imp is a cute fight, sort of like how displacer beasts work, but with a guaranteed miss on the first hit. I'm in favor of designing smarter fights, so this simple one may nudge smart players to primarily use AoE effects to guarantee you hit both, or possibly make quick dart attacks to knock out one of the duplicates.Extratemporal is going to be a new trait for a couple of these now. These are VERY situational, but does give it a lit...
[Infinity] Monster - Chronal Paradict
I was fascinated by the weirdness of Infinity and biblically accurate angels for this one. This one would make a very fun fight because it embodies paradox itself; it reverses natural 20s and 1s, reverses disadvantage into advantage, teleports through openings, and my absolute favorite trait, automatically fails on Intelligence saves because it just makes up its own logic. Heroes fighting this should learn quickly to aim for the "normal" or "middle-ground."The "paradict" tag also opens up possibilities for other kinds of...
[Infinity] Monster - Temporal Malefice
These were originally designed as mooks for Infinity Guard to fight and protect things from. Visually, I wanted an eldritch vibe but I settled for a more familiar beast-like body. They are best suited for investigative adventures — discovering a trail of aged bodies or children suddenly transformed into adults, until you track down the temporal malefice responsible. It's straightforward in battle, but the aging effect can stack up for careless adventurers.I really like the malefice name, so I hope to one day make more malefices for other ...
