I Wanna Teach You Right from Wrong Nothing quite like the training room to work on something if the silence or calm music of his studio wereI Wanna Teach You Right from WrongNothing quite like the training room to work on something if the silence or calm music of his studio weren’t doing the trick for him. Which, to be fair, Joshua didn’t often manage to get a lot done there, funnily enough. That is, unless he was mostly reading through the books there and from his library. If he needed to actually think instead of just processing new inform...

The words were friendly, after all, even if the feeling behind them was decidedly not. Everything had been fine the last time he’d been there, so why was he suddenly picking up on negativity? Negativity that seemed to be directed at him too, even if i...

We don’t have to build from nothing and it has a long stretch of shore, which is great for what we need right now. There’ll be plenty of work to put into that abandoned hotel so that it’s better adapted for what we need, but it’s better than having nothin...

And as You’re Halfway to Heaven“Warm!”Joshua smiled sadly as he walked further into the room and took in the sight of Valerie. The dhampir was doing well, all things considered… but there was only so much that Joshua could do, sadly. Her soul wasn’t recovering like his, after all. The damage was dramatically different. Where his was superficial damage – if still serious –, hers was borderline permanent, maybe even actually permanent. What he was trying to do was basically the equivalent of trying to regrow a limb with mundane means...

Chapter 113‘How did this happen again?’ Kazuki wondered idly, leaning back on his chair and taking a sip from his cup of tea.“Still, surely there’s some kind of equipment that could be given to him that he can wear on him besides basic things,” Shield said. Melissa, actually, since she’d insisted as soon as she learned that Kazuki used first name basis with everyone and preferred it. He’d been caught off guard a little by that, but he really shouldn’t have been. She was American, he guessed. “There might come a time when he ne...

Similarly, he’d been without Lily plenty of his time in the Pokemon world. They trained separately, they didn...

Feel the Hungry Staring‘Is that Rossweisse?’ was the first thought that went through Joshua’s mind when he entered the meeting room where Agnes was apparently waiting with whoever “the Norse” were supposed to be. Elizabeth herself had been called just as urgently as him, it seemed and she hadn’t been able to tell him much.He thought that reaction was justified though, but then again, he rather doubted Rossweisse was the only silver-haired valkyrie in Asgard. The fact that Odin himself wasn’t there lended credibility to the theory ...

Chapter 12“I’m sorry, but I think we’ve been here too long. I just got a message from our guardians that we should get going,” Kazuki said to one of the small time support equipment companies that had approached his friends during the impromptu media session that had somehow happened. They had been there for a while and they really needed to get going. There was also the fact that he was rather tired himself and also the fact that many of the people approaching them seemed to just want to stick their names next to theirs in the press.He...

Here’s to a Moment of LifeJoshua’s last step down the stairs was already letting him know that things would be different this time.Every single time, whenever he went to visit Yasaka’s dungeon to “check” on their prisoners from Khaos Brigade, he was welcomed with something. Maybe Cao Cao or the devils felt like insulting him. Or maybe Kokabiel or Georg were feeling particularly chatty. Now though, they were all silent, but there was some kind of tension filling the air, like they were waiting for him to say something. He didn’t thoug...

Chapter 111“All Might!” Kazuki called immediately while almost every hero in the room broke their restraints. They hadn’t been that strong, evidently. He couldn’t break them himself, but he suspected a half decent Grimm arm would be enough. As it was though, he had something that needed to be taken care of immediately. “I know where they are!” he added when the hero froze. In less than a second, the Number One hero of Japan had been free and ready to jump through the roof, by the looks of it. Which was all well and good, but Kazuki i...

She said nothing and she seemed to look for him every few s...

Don’t Worry, I’ll Be Fine[Joshua Davis]A whole day after the attack on the Tepes territory, Joshua wasn’t really feeling any more calm than the day before. His soul was still on the mend, but his mind wasn’t as scrambled anymore, so that was a great plus. Friday and he had been working on spells to help patch himself – and Valerie too, it was important to note – and they’d made… some progress. Spells that affected the soul were hard to make, after all.He was acutely aware that his success on Project Ascension was because the thin...

Chapter 110[Kazuki Endo]His hand twitched at the same time as the Beowolf swiped, claws cutting through robots. The whole incident that was going on was terrible, terrorists or whatever were endangering everyone on the island. He was also being flooded with negativity levels that were equal if not worse than the Black Rampage. The cherry on top of that shitcake was the pain All Might by himself was filling his chest with. And yet, Kazuki found himself kind of appreciating the event.Or, at least, he appreciated the fact that he was given a chance ...

Damage Done to My Soul[Joshua Davis]“Outside…” Valerie mumbled, barely responsive, by the looks of it. He tried his best to get a read on her but she seemed… Very wrong. Not physically, nor mentally, contrary to what one would assume. Her soul though, it was all sorts of broken. It was frayed at the seams, just like his own had been the first time he’d channeled the Egyptians more than he should have, but also worse. Where that time he’d been stretched more than he should have and torn here and there, Valerie almost looked like some...

Chapter 109[Chikuchi Togeike]Annoying. The two villains were annoying. One of them seemed to be able to smack away any amount of ice or water they sent his way and the other was a fucking tank. Not literally, but metaphorically. He kind of reminded Chikuchi to the one boy in 2-B, except more purple bald gorilla than furry beast. So, there they were, unable to deliver true damage to any of their two opponents. And that was concerning, because as far as they were aware, there were more villains going their way. They needed to end the fight soon or th...

-Till the Victory Is Mine[Joshua Davis]The first clue to Khaos Brigade being outside of his barriers was… Well, the fact that someone poked said barriers. He wasn’t sure who, but someone had tried to get through them and failed. He could have thought that was a coincidence, of course. Those could happen and it wasn’t a huge stretch of the imagination to think someone might have tried to come in and talk to one of the two vampire factions. However, the second clue was much more obvious and it came in the most annoying thorn on Joshua’s si...

Chapter 108[Hina Maeda]Why?Why was it that something so bad had to happen when she was at I-Island? She was a hero, sure, but she wasn’t this kind of hero. Furthermore, Kazuki was right there! They were there to have Kazuki make some very useful connections and have him relax in the meantime in a nice entertaining spot. They weren’t supposed to get in the middle of a villain attack! At I-Island to boot and they’d apparently hacked the security system of the whole place. -Beat Down-[Joshua Davis]At least one part of his draconic half-forgotten memories related to the vampires was correct, evidently.‘Which Evil Dragon is that?’ he wondered as he walked towards the creature. For a dragon, it was surprisingly humanoid, despite what Joshua had seen regarding the creatures in his research. It was like someone had taken a regular Western dragon and made it bipedal, for the most part, but there were some other humanoid-like details here and there. He took in the black scales and the silver eyes, trying to pull on t...

Chapter 107[Toru Hagakure]“Look, guys!” she exclaimed, pointing at a display to the side. It had a costume prototype that was only half visible, with pieces of it alternating between visible and invisible. It was set side by side with another that was there to show the invisible parts in a way that was… Well, perceivable. “I wonder if I could have a better costume using this?” she asked, considering that idea.Currently, her “costume” was mostly just her hair, which was weaved into cloth for her. She wasn’t privy to all the detai...

-Till Your Hope Has Died-[Joshua Davis]There was a plan in place and he was going to follow it.First step was to lock down the area, of course. He didn’t want anyone getting out and especially nobody getting in. Nobody would be calling for help and nobody would arrive to surprise them. If anything at all happened, Joshua would at least have a heads-up to prepare himself. Then came the support spells, although Joshua kind of agreed with the view that they were just the first wave of offensive ones. After all, he was getting infamous for his ene...

Chapter 106“How do you know each other?” Kazuki asked, back with Hina and Katelyn.“Changing topics?” the latter asked back, clearly amused by how uncomfortable he was at the moment. He gave her a helpless smile, resolutely not looking at his mentor. She was just waiting to pounce on him again. “You know it’s not gonna work, right?”“I can hope,” he answered resignedly, earning himself a giggle from the woman.“Kazukiiiii…”“So, how did you meet?” he insisted, making Katelyn burst into laughter.“Oh, I like you, kid,”...
