Dragon scan and tiger finished for now
It wasn't such a well-conceived painting, the tiger, so I might as well move on. Gonna do more of these wee little paints for MFF
Shy tiger WIP
Preview of a new digital paint for MFF.
Dog sketches and finished Snow Leopard
Some practice sketches and I think I'll call this snep done
Snow Leopard wip
I've been whacking away at this thing for a while. It's tricky! Bringing paintings together so that everything serves the composition is hard work, and because I don't know how to do it well, it involves a lot of fumbling.
Today's offerings
Some pencil. Some ink. Some ballpoint.
Three inked images
The middle one was a dud and I totally bailed on it. Unfortunately the pens don't play the nicest with the paper, either, but it turned out alright at a distance.
Painting for Utunu finished!!
This one took a while! It's an acrylic painting on a 16 by 20 inch board. They did go in there clothed! They're using it to protect their backsides from pointy rocks.
Sisu wip
I started this thing but have no earthly reason as to why I ought to finish it. Can't sell it. And I have a lot of work to do. So if someone else wants to play with it, by all means. Call it a collab.
Dragonfall
I dunno what else I want to do with this, if anything. So Imma call it done for now.
PSD base in the attachments
Put your own character in it, make a new one; whatever you want!
A procreate doodle and a greyscale
Not sure how I want to deal with that grey. I might not paint it. Since I have some time before a con for once I should probably come up with a lot of ideas and pick out the best ones!
Artemis and Apollo
I've been working feverishly on an NDA for an art book about werewolves. The color image I can't share until 2024, but the black and white I can share with Patron. And here it is! I'm going to fiddle with it a bit more, but it's mostly done.
I've been working feverishly on a DNA
But I do have SOME things to show. Some fur practice sketches, a ballpoint, and a sort-of comm.
Two real media images and a commission
It's nice to just plonk down a figure and now worry myself to distraction with background.
Painting commission
I am finally totally resettled and getting back into a routine. I've got a large ( 16 by 20, three figure) painting commission I'm hacking away at. I did the sketch digitally before I knew they wanted a size larger than my printer would allow, so I had to chop up the paper and cobble it back together once I'd printed. You can see in the second scan how I've continued to sand down the joint to make it entirely flush. Interestingly, the tape I used is coming through, which has given me the idea of intentionally layering something ...
An update
Got a few bigger pokers in the fire rn. The first is just an art for a con. The other two are commissions. And then I've got a big painting I'm flailing away at.
miss doggy
I like playing around with shape language and stylistic elements even though I'm not great at it. I'd LIKE to be able to work in that extremely exaggerated shape style but it's like black magic to me. The further I move from realism the worse it gets.
New art
Some art fights, some just for fun. I am sooo tired today.
Today's offerings
Just some flat colors of the large files
Two WIPs
Commission stuff. I'm poking along at them.
Shy boyfriend
oops, I didn't think i'd get another art done tonight, but here it is!
chee boing
ballpoint drawing
Two artfight images
Doing a few just to get back into the art habit
Two new ballpoint drawings.
I have really been enjoying just doing linework. So nice over bludgeoning myself over the head with painting
Two ballpoint drawings
It has been SO NICE to go back to one of my comfort media. Lines are my fav art 'tool'. Painting is so unnatural for me.
Snow leopard
Noodling out an idea for a snowleopard painting. Which I think I might paint in literal paint? But I'm quite discombobulated from all my supplies being moved. I'll have to re-organize.
I have just been moving house!
Other than some odds and ends, I'm all set up and ready to get back to work. This will be the last move for some little while.
Practice
Just drawing from a Smithsonian photo. It's nice to just noodle out a sketch from a direct ref sometimes
sketchbook
I just have NOT had the energy to noodle around in a sketchbook lately, but last night when I couldn't sleep I figured I might do a little.I've had a lot of trouble having fun with it. I'll stare at the blank page and just, nothing comes out. Earnest studies seem like an insurmountable problem and doodling feels like just hammering in bad habits.I know burnout is partially to blame. Adjusting my attitude about it would help. Not worrying about the big picture. That sort of thing can be hard to tinker with!
Tired of working on this!
I'm just gonna call it done and move on. Gotta finish getting together my anthrocon art show.
